Hey all,
Any ideas how to keep a 2 1/2 year old boy occupied while on a long line. For the most part he's pretty patient (as 2 year olds go) and figgure just being there will be enough sometimes.

But ...am sure there'll be moments.. Heard somewhere to bring along games as a way to distract him from long lines.

Any Ideas would be much appreciated !
Thanks!

I Spy is a good standby if he knows his colors or shapes. You know, "I spy with my little eye something red". or something round etc..., and then the others try to guess what it is. Although at that age my DD was saying it as "I smell with my little eye"! Used to make me and DS(9 at the time) crack up! :rotfl:

Another thing we've done is I make up a story - sometimes about the last ride we went on - they loved rehearing it, "Once upon time, there was a little boy named ... and he wanted to ride Dumbo! Well when he got on - it went up and up and up.... you get the picture! ;)

Also, sometimes we just talk about the ride we we're waiting for and what it's going to do and what we'll see and point out all the details.

I agree with I spy! I also bring along bubbles. They are great and also help other parents as well. I sometimes will give them a smartie in line too and see how long they can keep it in their mouth.

MousseauMob - what a great idea! I do stories with my son and he loves it (even hearing the same story over and over, he just likes to hear his name) but I don't know if I would have ever thought to do it while waiting in line. I've been trying to think of things to keep him occupied and I think this will take care of a lot of his boredom. Thanks!

My kiddos are a bit older but, we bring keychain games - small, compact and passes the time!

Perhaps a small doodle pad & colored pencils? Sometimes you can find tiny Golden Books...great size for a purse.

Just a thought...:)

bring a spray bottle and spray each other... :)

spraying people is just fuuuun :P
