Hello,
Just purchased new contract so we now have a February Use Year at BLT and a Dec Use Year at AKL. We usually do split stays between the two resorts (10 days total divided between the two), so we decided it makes sense for us to not worry about the different use years.

However, I thought I'd see what others do to manage multiple contracts with different use years. What is your best tip for managing multiple Use Years?

Thanks,

Sarah

It is not difficult. Think of yourself as being two different members with each of your separate selves dealing with her own DVC membership. You have two different banking dates and the points from one cannot be mixed with the other even at 7 months out unless you do a transfer from one to the other. Usually, instead, you can just reserve some nights with one contract and the other nights for the same trip with the other. If that ends up being at the same resort then you can have MS link the reservations so you do not have to change rooms mid-trip. You will also get two different annual dues statements and bills. If you have dues taken automatically from your bank account each month, then you will have two separate withdrawals. If you book on-line at both resorts 11 months out for a split stay, that will be two separate bookings and thus you will have two different arrival dates givng you two different 11-month-out dates.

As for your on-line account with DVC, both contracts will be together in the same files so you retain only one on-line membership account. As to the Disney Files Magazine, you might receive two (some have reported still getting two) but in our case they now send us only one.

WE have two UY's and treat them as different memberships for different purposes and so far, its worked out.

I think it is not as much as an issue when you know you have a purpose for the different points and have enough to book the way you want.

It sounds like you bought the way you did. I have realized, now that I own both a June and Dec UY, that having the Dec UY allows me to book trips for Memorial Day weekend--a time I didn't think I'd travel--without having to worry as that would have been too close to the end of my June UY to book.
