I'm going to Disneyville on Boxing day for 16 days with my better half and her two boys who will be 10 and 12 when we travel. We are staying at the Windsor Palms Resort on West US 192 in Kissimmee, an area I know well as I usually stay at the former Fourpoints Lakeside, now a La Quinta property.

I'm a seasoned visitor to Orlando (20 or so visits now) but this is my first trip over with kids as part of the party.

So what I'm wondering is which restaurants in the area have kids eat free promotions or discounts that we can take advantage of ? I know the likes of Ponderosa do it, but even with those types of places, which we are more than happy to use, I dont know the age limits/rules, etc.

I'd also be interested in any specialist (non-chain) restaurants that give discounts/free meals for kids, and in any info on other discounts for families and kids that might be available to us.

Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

how did you manage to go to disney 20 or so times without kids???

there are neon lit signs all over saying kids eat free etc...only one i can remember was Dennys.

Hopefully someone else can help.

You'll have a fantastic trip seeing thruough the eyes of kids..wait till you see their faces.

As galaxy said there are signs everywhere offering Kids Eat Free deals............just look!! Trouble is since you're not going for 3 months any restaurants offering promotions now may well have changed by then.

Only problem you may well encounter is the age limit...........most restaurants will have a cut-off point for free meals, some as low as 5 years old, but most will certainly cut-off at 10 as an upper limit.

There again, kids meals can be as low as $2.99 / $3.99 so they're not going to bankrupt you.

Thanks guys.

I have of course seen all the signs dotted around for kids reductions and stuff, but as I've never been with kids I've never taken any notice !

Any other info would be appreciated, especially on delas for families going to attractions etc, - yes, I know Disney would never give a discount, heaven forfend !!

Same applies re: park tickets.

Kids are classed as adults at 10 & 12 so you'll be paying full price for them.

What theme parks do you intend to do?

...............and you CAN get discounted tickets if you check around!

Disney quized us at sit down restaurannts for the ages of our kids & I will hold my hand up & admit that I lied & said they were both 11. Ds is 11 but DD is 12. She eats less than he does & after paying adult addmission prices I wasn't happy at paying adult meal prices.

I'm not saying this is what you should do, that's up to you & your partner! Just admitting this is what I did.

We ate at Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, & would definately go again even if i had to pay adult prices!!!!! The food was great & the kids loved seeing the animals, so close to the hotel. Even our 16 yr old was impressed.

.

Other chains ie Ponderosa etc never asked their ages. so we always ordered them childrens meals.

somewhere I'd recommend though your kids are not eligble for kids prices is Bill Wongs Famous Buffet on International Drive it was great food & a bargain. Especially on a weekday lunch time.
