Need to book rental cars for Hawaii (Oahu and Kauai) for an October trip and am hoping someone can help. I am planning to rent a full-size or mid-size car because there will be 5 of us- DH and FIL in the front seat and the two kids (DS11 and DD9) and I in the back. We're all pretty thin, so I'm sure we'll fit okay, but I'd like to be as comfortable as we can for any treks around the islands. I'd prefer not to pay for a minivan but might consider an SUV.
Looks like our choices are Chevy Impala, Ford Fusion, Dodge Charger, Ford Taurus, or similar (I realize there's no guarantee). Anyone have advice on which of these would be comfortable? Also any advice on which have good trunk space? We're going to try to keep the luggage to a minimum, but easier said than done!
My head is spinning from reading comparisons of cars, checking websites for interior dimensions an such, but I thought I'd ask since I know what great device disboards users give!
