Hi Everyone! I recently closed on a DVC resale. I'm not sure of the exact day of closing, but I received the congratulatory email from TTS early on the morning of April 5th saying it was closed. I looked at the Orange County website, and the deed was recorded on April 5th at 9:57am. I know it's probably too early for Disney to have me in their system, but I called Member Admin anyway (800-********, option 2 and option 2) and was told to wait a week from the point that the documenation was sent to Disney. I was also told that I need the seller's name and contract number (both of which I have). Do you think if I wait a week from April 5th, that's good enough? I don't know exactly the date the docs went to Disney. I don't want to be a nag, but I'm chomping at the bit to make my reservations. All advice is extremely welcome!

By the way, I'm a new BLT owner! Thanks!

We closed on March 29th, with the deed recorded on March 29th and Disney has not yet processed the change. I just called this morning.

So far, I've called 4 times and have gotten 2 nice CMs, 1 tired CM, and 1 rude CM. But, they basically have all told me the same thing:

- They process them on a first-come-first-serve basis
- Call back each day
- They estimate 2 weeks

So, I suppose they are still working on resales prior to 3/29 right now.

Good luck!

ps. We just bought at BLT as well!

I closed recently and they refused to give me a number by phone. FYI. Said it was a recently changed policy. I got mine through a guide. It took a little less than two weeks though.

Quick update:

Member administration has me in the system now (went in last night), and they gave me my membership number over the phone after verifying address, phone, and date of birth.

Then, member services tried to set me up with an on-line account, but the system would not give an activation number because the account was not fully entered yet (i.e. no points in the system).

The person on the phone said that could take an additional 7-10 days, which seems crazy. We'll see. I seem to recall reading on other threads here that the points can lag the actual contract entry by a few days, I just didn't realize they couldn't give you an on-line account until that happened.

I had the same thing happen to me. I called the next day and my points were in and they were able to set me up with my on-line account. You may wan to try again today after 4pm.

Another quick update: points were loaded today, so if they say it takes a week or more, they are just giving themselves wiggle room.

Resale buyers need to understand that Disney has every reason not rush the process. You just bought resale and took money out of the mouses pocket. The ROFR and closing delays are intentional just like the resale restrictions are.

Hey Bill

After all these many posts and years are you still "sort of" Disneynutz? :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Moe

We were also just in the same boat and had called last Thursday, 4/5 and were told also that happens on a first come first serve basis. However, we were dealing with a wonderful CM whose name matches the Good Witch in Wizard of OZ, who gave us her direct number and were instructed to call her on 4/11. We called her and she was great, gave us our number and transfered our call to MS who then booked our first DVC trip!!! I would recommend asking for her, not sure if she did anything special, but she was very nice to deal with.
Good Luck and Welcome Home!!

It is what it is. :goodvibes

Disney could process resales faster, they choose not to. Business is business.

I agree, the delays are our penalty if you will for being more economical with doing a resale purchase. Oh, well its the opportunity cost that you pay. I do find it funny though that even though the very nice CM that told us to call back on 4/11 for our information, we received our "letter" with our member ID was dated 4/5. In the end though, we're in and have our reservations and couldn't be happier.

I called this morning to check on our contract that closed last week. The CM told me they are working on files that were submitted on April 3rd and to call back Monday...

Hope that helps with timing for some people..

I got to speak with that same very nice CM last Thursday, who told me to call back today and I should be in the system. I called her direct this afternoon, and she very kindly gave me my member id. So, closed on 4/5, and have member id on the 16th. Not too bad. Of course, I forgot to call MS for my one-time activation code, so couldn't use online. (unless I'm missing something - please tell me) I want to search around for availability in December. I can't wait to check!

My home resort is BLT. I'm willing to take any resort, really. But I need either 2 studios or a 1br that has two bathrooms (AKV or BLT). I would also take a low-point 2BR. I'm hoping for 6 nights sometime before 12/20. What do you think my chances are?

Thanks again for all of the advice.

I called MS today and am now all set up, and I made my first reservation! Got a 1br lake view for Dec 11 - 17th. Very excited!
