I need advice on a bad job situation. Here's the problem I am not get hours at work. I have requested extra hours at work and they had said no that can't give extra hours.

I was getting 16 hours a week. Cut hours from that 9 Cut hours from that 6 Cut hours to 3 hours and 30 minutes. When I was working 16 hours they work spread the hours over 3 days.

This week is only 3 and 30 minutes.

Went in for my 6 month review and they said I was not doing my share the work and I was lazy. Example They said for every one box that I open that co worker have done 5 boxes before I done with my one.

I have one problem with that no one has nothing to put together on there line but me. I have to put together tables, chairs, bookcases all without instructions sometimes.

On top that they have me coming at 7:30 a.m. execept for the guys that unloader the truck. No one else comes in until 9:00 a..m to work on there stuff. They won't me to there work and mind to.

Here my job title processor/sales associate/cashier and they is only paying 5.50 hour and after been there 6 months get .25cent raise.

I keep coming only working 3 hours and 30 minutes a week or quit the. The only problem is i need this job until I find something else. I have a seasonal job at the baseball as a concession stand manger.

Here 2 choice I have come to with.

1. Quit the job and look for a another job Work at the baseball park until the seasonal over. Why bother going in for 3 hours and 30 minutes a week. That's not worth the gas.

2. Keeping working the job and look for a job another job.

Advice out there friends. I won't the good bad and ugly comments.

I vote for number 1. 3.5 hours is not worth paying the gas for.

You want the good, the bad, and the ugly huh? Sounds like a classic hour cut to get you to quit. I would keep the job and look for other work. Makes interviewing better.

Very simply put, they are doing what is called "managing you out". Basically they don't really have a valid reason to fire you, but they want to get rid of you. Whether it's right or wrong, it's only going to get worse. I'd be out looking for another job NOW. Legally they do'nt have to give you any hours, but consider you still employed. I saw this happen to a coworker, they would schedule her for three hours every few weeks. So she was technically employed, ie no unemployment.

I have been looking for another job left and right.

Mom is suprise that I am still there. She expect me come at any day say I quit.

I feel sorry for the full time people they have cut there hours to under 30 hours a week.

I am just thankful that i have another job to keep my head above water. I happen to love my job at the baseball park where I am manager.

The manager of the store is a idiot and does not know have management a store.

We have 2 managers that quit in the same month. Employees is quiting left and right because they is keep cutting there hours.

I think the store is getting ready to close down. It would not suprise me a bit. We have HomeStores in Chattanooga before each one have close. There is not a market for it.

Trust me I know. I have work for all 3 homestores that went out business in Chattanooga.

Never go for work for TJ Maxx INC.

Thanks for the advice
P.S. Keep the advice coming.

I am sure to get flamed here but I figure you need an honest answer.

No offense but if you speak to the customers the way you write here you may be getting your hours cut because of that.

Customers normally want someone that will be able to speak them to them using proper english. The management may be getting complaints and are acting on it by cutting your hours until you quit. They probably do not want to hurt your feelings so they are doing this.

I don't work with the customers at the job. I work in the backroom open boxes.

The way I speak is not the way I write. I have written dysxia and very hard for to write something down.

It's funny at my baseball job work doing baseball seansnal I am concession stand manager I handle speaking to people very well and have gain respect for it. Actually I was promote in the position because I handle mutitasking very well.

As matter I love working with people and help them. I consider that part of good customer service.

If you can afford it, go ahead and give your two weeks notice. Then look for another job. Maybe look into a customer service rep job on the phone. You will probably have to take a written test. Not sure if that will present a problem for you. My DH is a terrible speller and that has always been a bit of a roadblock for him. I am very sorry that this is happening to you.
