Advice on Area

We're down in So.Cal. for a 3 day pre-cruise stay and need input to decide on where. Our choices right now are Redondo Beach or Huntington Beach. How far apart are these places? I'm having a hard time picturing the distance scale; where we live each town or city is very far apart and distince. The entire L.A. area just looks like one big blob to me.

We're looking for an interesting area, beach front would be nice but we're not watersport people. Which would you choose? We'll have a rental car so getting around won't be an issue but we need to be at the San Pedro pier on Monday morning.

Thanks in advance,

I can't say to much about Redondo because I've never been there but as far as Huntington Beach goes, it's a great place. The beach is really nice and they have lots to do. The pier is gorgeous and right across from the beach there is a ton of shopping and dining. I believe that the distance from Redondo to Huntington is about 45 minutes. If you go mapquest you can get a better idea as to how far apart these places are (driving wise).

Have a fun cruise and a fun stay in whichever beach you choose! :)
