Hello!

We have stayed many times at Disney World but always at POFQ. We saw a good deal for the All-Star properties but I don't really know much about them. Which of Movies, Sports, or Music would you stay at? We will be there for a week but only doing three days at the park.

I also know that they are basic hotels but the deal is good so that's ok.

Your preference?

Thank you!

We have thoroughly enjoyed all of our stays at all 3 All Stars. Having said that, Sports is our favorite because we are a sports loving family. Other than the theme, they are all basically the same. Check out pics, videos, etc of all 3 and pick which theme you like best.

I agree with Dansdad that Sports is the one that we would choose. I would recommend against All Star Music unless you are paying for a preferred room location as some standard rooms are more distant from the dining and buses due to its fairly linear layout. Sports and Movies rooms are laid out differently so that most rooms are reasonably close.

Enjoy the All Star resorts!

I got back a couple weeks ago after staying at All Star Sports for two weeks. I highly recommend it. Occasionally they share buses with the other All Star hotels. The only time we shared during my two week stay was when we went to Blizzard Beach and ONE time to Magic Kingdom. But the highlight of that-Sports is the first to be picked up AND dropped off. The staff was very friendly, the food court was okay. But it's a place to eat if you want to avoid eating at the parks. The rooms are small, but fit our needs. Good luck on your decision.

Another Sportster here.:)

The cool thing about The All-Star Resort is that Guests can use the Pools, buses, etc. at all 3 Resorts.

If I am in a hurry returning from a Park,I will take the Movies bus if it comes first and walk back to Sports(10 minutes) or take the Music bus if it comes first and walk back to Sports(5 minutes).

This also provides a chance ot enjoy the other 2 Resorts.

The one caveat about The All-Star Resort that many, but not all,Guests don't like is the big Groups that often stay there.

Here are the "main" months for Groups:

Mid-January to early-May----Cheer/Dance/Twirl Season
January/February/July----The 15s Season
First week of December----Pop Warner Super Bowl:)

**I'm going to re-post what I already typed up on another thread. I'd also like to point out my family has stayed at all 3 All Stars, and my family generally prefers Music. I personally have found Sports to be the best one because of the way it's constructed--any non-preferred room is close to the main building unlike the other All Stars, which would require a preferred room for close proximity to the main building. As for the school groups/marathoners/Brazilian tourists, you can easily avoid them any time of the year if you go to the parks from 8am-12pm. People who complain about the groups are people who utilize the All Stars as a pool/nap place during the day.**

All Star Resort Tips:

1) Rooms feature double beds.
2) Non-preferred rooms can be a hike for some.
3) Morning breakfast in the food court can be chaotic.
4) No coffee pots/microwaves in rooms. There is a fridge.
5) Rooms may be considered small to those who are accustomed to moderate/deluxe style rooms. Consider packing organizers for the room to place belongings in. There is plenty of space in the sink area and by the front door.
6) Room features 1 small table with 2 chairs.
7) Pools will be crowded during the day. Pools do not have slides.
8) Do not feel shy about asking to have room features fixed. On one trip a light bulb was out, so we requested to have it fixed.
9) For less noise/traffic, request a room on the 3rd floor if possible and towards the back of the building (away from central walkway/pool area).
10) If you must budget but cannot afford prefer rooms, consider staying at All Star Sports, which has the closest non-preferred rooms to the main building.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask me any questions.

We are now considering All Star resorts for our honeymoon as weddings are expensive so having £7000+ for a honeymoon is unrealistic. My only concern is that we won't get any relax time as I have heard these resorts are packed we are going 24th September 2018 to 15th October 2018.

You have some good dates as far as the large groups are concerned-there shouldn't be any HUGE groups at the All-Star Resort then.:)

SPORTS :thumbsup2 Something like 10 stays, and I wasn't really excited at first. But it's consistently been clean, fresh and well serviced. Great footprint with no long walks, creative main pool area that isn't a huge expanse, newer and good food court.

Backup would be MOVIES, because it's movies and I love the Toy Story area design, but enjoyed staying in Might Ducks for location and price. The reason we don't return there is it is very popular with young kids and we are now all adults.

MUSIC, would be the least favorite, and honestly when it comes up our only option ... we move offsite.

If you are spending much of your off time from parks at resort, I probably would stick with SPORTS (if not POP), but remember at AllStars you can visit, swim, eat etc at any of them, they are sister resorts.

I stayed at Sports in April and I have to say...I was pleasantly surprised! We've stayed at values, moderates, and deluxes (with the last few trips at the Contemporary), so I was understandably a little wary about staying at Sports. The bus service was pretty quick, the grounds were nicely maintained, and the room was VERY clean. I also have to add that I am looking at the resort through the eyes of a hotel manager. I already have my next trip booked at Sports!
The only thing I was not fond of was the food court. It was sufficient for breakfast, but the lunch and dinner options were sort of dreadful.

We've stayed at Sports and at Music. I'd pick Sports because the bus stops their first and it felt more compact/central unless we needed the family suites.

I'll be the oddball here and suggest Movies, although I see you already said you're going with Sports. ASMo is the most Disney themed of the 3, which is why we like it.

We thought music because we are not sports fans but if it is that much better then maybe we should switch? We did like movies but bit more expensive is it worth it?

We have never stayed at Sports for the same reason. The theme just doesn't appeal to us, except for maybe Surfs up area. Honestly, this is the first thread that I've read so many positive reviews on Sports, lol. My order of values is POP, ASMo, ASMu, ASSp. That being said, my sister really likes ASSp and hates POP :confused3

We found Music to be a good value resort- low key, clean, decent food court, nice CMs. Nothing overly exciting, but we're going back in a few weeks so there ya go. The only reason we haven't been back to Movies is because over the past few years it's been exempt from the promotions/discounts and I like a good deal :)
