Ok I'll be the first to admit that my cooking sucks.:headache:

I've been asked to make some little chicken legs and wings for Christmas Eve, simple enough request.

So I went an bought a bag of frozen little chicken legs/wings to try my hand at it this past weekend before the holiday hits so I could have it perfected...I thawed the bag in the refrez. and then rolled them in shake and bake and baked them in the oven....yeah they turned out not very good, I was really disappointed.

How does everyone else do theirs, my goodness it can't be that hard, the ones you always get in the resturants are always so good, I could eat a ton of them, mine I ate 4 and was done.

What is the secret to this someone please enlighten me on how to do them, before my guest pack up and go out to eat, I have 8 days to get my act together. TIA

Is there a BW3 near you? I'd buy theirs.lol!

I don't usually cook those, but I can tell you that the recipes rated 4.5 or 5 stars on allrecipes with several ratings have always been winners for me.

Here's a search I did for wings for you:
http://allrecipes.com/Search/Recipes.aspx?WithTerm=hot wings&SortBy=Rating&Direction=Descending

Be sure to read plenty of the good and bad reviews and check to see how people adapted the recipes for thawing frozen ones!

I have looked into this but we want a basic chicken wings/legs and not sweet/sour or barbeque, so I'm still searching the website. thanks

No never heard of this, or trust me I would buy...ha

I deep fry chicken parts in my turker cooker using peanut oil.

you can marinade if you want before. (I inject with creole butter marinade)

I also sprinkle a seasoning over the chicken parts before frying.

comes out a golden brown!!

NO COATING!!!!

Mmmmmmmm.

we also fry four or five cut up parts at a time, then cool and put enough in one sealed freezer bags for a meal. Then freeze, each bag is enough for DW and I for one meal!!!

Sounds great ;) so well just come over your house...ha :lmao:

So you don't want hot wings, just baked wings?

Definitely no shake and bake.

What I do is to take a little bit of Italian bread crumbs and mix it in with a scoop of flour. I add Spike (because I put it in darn nearly everything) but you could use a little regular salt and pepper. I roll the wings in that, stick them on a broiler pan and shove them in the oven. :confused3 Some people dip in egg first, but I don't because my daughter is severely allergic to them. They come out just fine without the egg dip.

and some Pina Colada mix

then....

Ok so let me recap...Go buy a deep fryer, roll chicken in italian bread crumbs and mix it in with a scoop of flour, get a tattoo, apply hot sauce, fry chicken, throw it all out and go directly to GRUMPY PIRATE house with rum, leave rum and then go and have a beer.

Wow this is easier than I expected ! :lmao:

Did you thaw the chicken wings before putting them in the oven?

OK....I think you can cook them freezer to oven.

Just cook them plain. You don't need to put anything on them.

If you can get fresh wings buy those and then cook them nekkid on a pan.

No need to add anything.

I like to thaw them out, marinate them in balsamic vinegar then add salt and pepper and bake..... YUM!!!!

The ones in the restaurant are marinated/coated. So....what flavor do you want?

If you want them breaded they have to be deep fried. You cannot coat wings and bake. You can marinate them and bake or bake them plain with just some spritz of salt, herbs or your choice.

I have a recipe for "Silver Spoon Wings" but that is a sweet-type marinade.

With a wing marinade you soak them in it for 24hrs in the fridge and then bake.

I have some stock party type items that I make, and will politely suggest that I substitute one of them whenever someone tells me what I should bring, rather than asking me what I feel comfortable making. Same with desserts, side dish, etc.

It's probably too late for you now, but you might want to keep it in mind for next time. :)

Well, actually pirate wenches (or those that want ta be!) can stay around fer ta RUM!!!

heheheheheheh

Sounds like ya gots a handle on the wings thing!!!!

Go directly to your nearest Sam's, Costco or other big box. Go to freezer section and grab large bag of wings. Follow directions on bag. Pour a drink while they are cooking.

The Tyson Tequila Lime wings are particularly good. Especially paired with a good margarita.
