Advice needed

Hi,we are staying at SSR 7 - 28 Aug and will be picking up a rental car from Alamo at WDW Dolphin on the morning of the 8th Aug.Can anyone tell me the best way to get to WDW Dolphin from SSR? (Or does anyone know if the concierge at SSR could arrange for Alamo to collect me)The thing is I don't want to spend a lot of time picking up the car when i could be enjoying my familytime at WDW.Thanks

If rental co. won't bring the car to you take a cab, it's a short ride

If you don't want to spend the money on a cab. Walk to DTD and catch the bus there for the Dolphin.

I would take the bus to MGM and boat to Dolphin.

How are you arriving? If you are coming in through the airport, rent your car there when you arrive. If not, I'd take a cab from SSR, because the DTD buses can be agonizingly slow and far between. It will cost about $12, but will be worth it in time. If you are going during park hours, just take the bus to MGM and walk through to the Dolphin or take the boat from the MGM dock.

When we rented from Alamo at the Car Care Centre (near the WL), they have a shuttle to pick you up and take you to your car, and return you when you take the car back. I'm sure I've seen it at the Swan/Dolphin as well. You just call 24 hours before you pick up your car to arrange a pick up time at your resort - it is FREE!!!

I think that there is a National and an Alamo at the Car Care Canter. I took the shuttle sent to my hotel from the car care care center to get my car.

In addition, I would check other car rental agencies in the area. We rented from the Budget counter at the Doubletree Hotel down the street from SSR for considerably less than any rentals were available from the on-site locations. It is walking distance from SSR.

There is a Thrifty rental desk in the Grosvenor. I know they will pick you up.
