Hi,

My girlfriend and I would like to get married sometime in the next year or so. We are both in our 40's and previously divorced. We don't really have many people that would attend (or that we would like to have attend lol). Both sets of parents are deceased so it is really just us. We want to keep it simple. We are DVC members and love it doen there. Does anyone have any advice for people like us? Does Disney offer anything for those who are not planning a big wedding?

Thank you.

Yes - Disney has Intimate Weddings. These packages are for people who want to have a small ceremony with 10 people or less. Go to www.disneyweddings.com to get more details. I am not up to date on them, but I think they start around $4k and include a ceremony, cake cutting, champagne toast, and I think four hotel nights. Upgrades are available, and of course you can plan a dinner with your guests, but it's not a reception and isn't planned by Disney.

You can do an intimate add-on, which is 2350 or so. Disney's not quick to tell you about it but it has the wedding, and champagne and cake reception, but no room nights. This would probably work better since your dvc. The only catch is you have to be booked at a Disney resort for 4 nights, so your dvc would qualify. You just make your hotel ressies then call ftw's and book the wedding, but you have to have room ressies first. Hope this helps.

Thanks to both of you for the information. Jennifer: You are a beautiful Disney Bride!

My GF and I will really consider this.

My best friend got married there (she was divorced/it was his first and they are in their 40's) in 2001. We had 19 people all together and did 4 days at WDW and the 3 day Disney Wonder. We had such a great time that we bought DVC as soon as we got home. Hers was $2500 and Disney supplied the flowers, music, minister, cake, champagne, limo and there was a wedding planner who co-ordinated everything. Then you go for dinner at your choice of restaurants (they charged $75.00 per person). We went to Portobello's in Downtown Disney but they give you a list of places to choose from. His immediate family went, plus her father and stepmother, her 2 children, my husband, myself and my son. It was the best wedding I have ever been to and the fun went on for a week! We used the gazebo that is near the bridge that is between The Beach Club Resort and the Boardwalk Resort. It was a beautiful location and a bit cheaper than the wedding chapel that overlooks the Magic Kingdom (they also give you a list of ceremony locations to choose from). I highly recommend this type of wedding for anyone who loves Disney. They do a top notch job and it was very classy.
