I am Potty Training my youngest daughter - she is 2 1/2 and doing GREAT! For those of you who have been through this before, what do you do at night? Should I use panties at night right away or should I stick with diapers or pull ups at night? Is this too early to expect her to "hold it" through the night?

ANY advice welcome!

What I did with my kids is let them continue to sleep in a diaper/pull up for a few months after they were daytime trained. My kids were very wet when they woke up in the morning, so I waited until their diapers were dry or somewhat dry each morning and then I told them it was time for big girl/boy pants at night, too. My DD had several accidents here and there, but everything's fine now. Good luck!!:D

I would definately have her in diapers at night. When they start waking up dry then leave them in underwear. If she doesn't like wearing the diaper then leave her underwear on and put a diaper over it.

I never liked those pull ups they just seem like a diaper to me and it confused my daughter, when she became daytime potty trained we put her in those training pants, the ones like panties but thicker, I swear she never had one accident to this day and just got up during the night and went when she had too. best of luck.

The biggest thing about night time potty training is to make sure the little one doesn't drink a lot after say 6 o'clock in the evening.

I left the diapers on and when they were ready they potty trained themselves at night. Both around age 3. I would take them just before I went to sleep and again when dh woke up in the morning.
Never pressured my kids to potty train. One started at 22 months, the other not until she was 3.

If she's still using diapers at night and not pull-ups, don't make the switch. Not only do pull-ups provide less incentive, they also don't work nearly as well when the child is lying down. The part on the sides that isn't absorbant leaks. I used to get to work at a daycare center right as my 2 year olds were waking up from nap. I frequently had to change whole outfits for the ones who slept in pull-ups.

We did regular training pants at night, but "double sheeted" the bed, so that if the kids woke up at night in a wet bed, it was quickly taken care of, and they went right back to sleep.

Oh those potty training days, My son was 4 yrs and 3 months so he waited so long he never had an accident. The running joke in my family was, "hopefully he will be trained by college". I am happy to say he is in his second yr. of college and he hasn't had an accident yet. LOL :D
