Advice needed on booking flights!

Hi~ I am wondering how far in advance you book your flights? We are traveling from MA to Orlando next March. We could book on Song now, but I think both SWA and JetBlue are those airlines that don't let you book until 6 months (?) prior? The Song fares aren't terrific, around $235 R/T. Should I wait until SWA and JetBlue release their fares? I have always flown Delta and am wondering if you wait until closer to departure time or book as far in advance as possible! Thanks soooooooo much!!

Right now, you just NEVER know. I just booked our flights for next Feb vacation week, and paid $249 for a non-stop, RT flight from Boston to Ft Myers on Song. For school vacation week, I thought that was pretty good.

The Song flights you can get are 'OK', not great, but OK. JetBlue has been stuck at the end of October for quite some time, and since they are so new to our area, I have no idea what their history is, as far as releasing flights, but I would HAVE to imagine, when they release their flights, they will be going head to head with Song, and the flights will come down a bit.

I would keep an eye on the Song flights, and if they start creeping up, book them! If not, when JetBlue opens, grab them.

I just checked my dates (feb 19-26 2005) thru Song and my prices sucked compaired to yours...I got 304/one way fare!! OUCH...over 600/person!! So much for a good deal.

This was out of either NY airport to orlando......bawwwwww

d4est--the only reason we got the deals we got, is that we booked, in the middle of the night, the day the flights became available (331 days out). Our flghts are the 16th-25th.

I suspect since you missed that window, you might want to keep an eye on when JetBlue releases their flights past October, there might be a little fare war then.
