Ok, so I have a dillema and decided to ask the experts and gurus of the dis for some advice. :grouphug:

We have 250pts (APR UY)at SSR. We will be taking a vacation soon...but, I don't know when cause DH is deployed. I don't know when he's going to come back - anywhere from 120-365 days. :sad2: So, my banking window ends in September. But if I bank points, then I cant use it till next year and we want to vacation as soon as he gets back. If I don't bank the points by the window then I might loose them.

What would you do? I know it's going to be a very last minute vacation. (which I hate cause I'm a planning nut) Should I just bank the points and borrow next years? Should I rent the points out? :confused3

And one more thing, we probably wont be going back for the next two years. We are planning on making a move next year to Asia and won't be visiting FL. We will get our fix at Tokyo or Hongkong :teeth:

Thanks in advance everyone... I do appreciate all your advice. (You all always give the best advice!!!) :thumbsup2

I think I would bank the points just in case something comes up and you can't take your vacation when expected. While you can't "unbank" points, you can borrow from the following use year to make ressies, in effect switching points between use years. The biggest disadvantage to that is that the points you banked could not be bank again, so they would have to be used by the end of the use year into which they were banked. If you're sure you aren't returning to WDW or will be using those points during the following use year, you will lose them. :( But you could possibly make a ressie and rent them to someone. Not the easiest thingh to do from Asia, though, I would guess. Either way, it is a tough decision.

on the lines of what Chuck S said, instead of waiting till next year I would rent out the points now from this years use year and when your husband comes home borrow against next years and then next year you could bank any to the following year. Good Luck

That's a better idea than mine was, I think. :)
