My husband is the same way. When he thinks of the trip, all he thinks of is having to get through LA traffic. Once we are there, he will be happier. My husband also wont talk about trips far in advance - any trips.

How to get your husband more excited? Well I'm no Dr Ruth which is probably good because she's actually dead, but maybe we can help you here anyway, what specifically did you have in mind? There are many interesting choices and options available online, at stores, private parties etc.
