advice from Disneylanders RE WDW please

Hi everyone.. thanks for all the input.. I knew I would get a lot of great responses over here..

KAMLEM, i have looked a little at DVC but I wasn't sure if I could trade for a small amount of points.. plus i am a little nervous about hte whole point thing since there are no controls, as in I give money to someone, how do I trust them.. is there a feedback or reference board for this?? if you stay at a dvc property, do you get the early entry and possible e-ticket night as well like the regular disney properties?

I am still not sure which parks we would want to do at this point.

My rec. is to hit MK and Epcot and save MGM and AK for another trip. MGM doesn't have enough for a whole day visit and without park hopping capability, you'd get more bang for your buck at Epcot. Stay onsite if you can. Renting DVC points is a great idea and generally very economical compared to onsite hotel rates. I can understand your hesitation about renting, but there are ways you can confirm the reservation.

Good luck and have fun!!

You do have to trust a little but if you go to the DVC disboard and find someone there then there's a good chance that you would be ok. I have never heard of anyone having problems when doing it that way. As long as you are careful and do things such as make the reservation together on the phone, that type of thing, then you will know who the person is and they really can't get away with anything. We did it once when we didn't have enough points to stay as long as we wanted and it worked out great.

You still get the early entry and e-ticket benefit so you don't have to worry about that.
