Advice for those staying offsite

We are staying offsite. Any tips or tricks you can suggest would be most welcome! Also, my husband and I haven't been to disney since we were kids/teenagers so no suggestion is a bad one!

I would suggest buying a guidebook like the Unofficial guide to familiarize yourself with the parks and their attractions. With that or something similar, you can determine which parks you want to go to and which rides you want to get fastpasses for and which restaurants may interest you.
Most touring pans involve getting up early and getting some of the potential delays out of the way early before it gets too crowded.
Hope you like it. It's very hard to do everything in one trip but that would leave you more "new' things to do on your 2nd trip if you do like it.

second the guide book and plan your day so you are not going from one area to another then back to first area. more walking and you will do enough without this. plan on it taking more time than you think it should to get anywhere at Disney

Not much different with staying offsite, then staying on premises. Plan, plan, plan.....or just wing it depending on how you do things.

We prefer to get there at opening (park closer), and take our time throughout the day at each park. Once you pay for parking, it's good for the day, so you can leave and come back if you need a nap, or a quick dip in the pool.
