Advice for staying at WL versus CSR?

I am planning a 9 night trip to WDW in late March. I am staying in Orlando for a convention at the end of the trip so I did get a convention rate at the Contemporary resort for our last 5 nights.

I have read some disappointing comments about standard rooms at the CR so I don't think it will be worth it to pay the regular peak rate at the CR for our first 4 nights. I am trying to pick a second Disney resort that will be in our budget range of < $230 per night. We do have AAA so I am hoping that this will help.

Does anyone have any comments about choosing between a standard room at the WL or staying at the moderate CSR resort? Also, any comments about staying in standard rooms at CR would be helpful. We will be traveling with our 15-month old son.

Welcome!

We have stayed at CR & WL. We loved both hotels.

With a 15mth old, I think you will like WL better. It has a really nice kiddie pool that he can splash around in. CR does not have a kiddie pool any longer.

I can't comment on the mod, as I have only stayed in deluxes.

I have WL pic's on my link below if you'd like to look.

What are the disapointing comments abt the CR rooms? We stayed in the north wing and loved our room. It was very quiet & had a nice MK view. We could see the fireworks from our room.
