My BIL and SIL will be in WDW for 6 days next week. Jeff will be at business stuff for 3 of these days and Holly will be on her own. No kids. No big WDW experience. I think they've been a couple of times, years ago.

All my experience is as "Mom and Dad with the kids." Any suggestions I can give Holly on how she can enjoy a few days at WDW alone and fairly unfamiliar with the place? They ARE staying on property at GF! Lucky ducks!

They do travel a lot so I'm thinking Epcot, World Showcase. Besides telling her walk around the countries, what are some cool things there?

Thank you very much!

World Showcase is a good idea for an adult touring solo. Just a reminder that the WS portion doesn't open until 11am, although it being spring break...it may be different....and very busy.

If she has interest in animals, AK might be perfect. There are the walking trails and some shows that she might find entertaining and informative.

There is also the Grand Floridian Spa just right next door. She may want to spend a morning there.

I have a similiar "problem  ". My DD and DH are going to be at an Anime convention on the 1st Saturday we are there. I've decided I'm going to one of the parks by myself.

Just think, get to use the single rider lines, no one to say "I don't want to do that". Get to do WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!!!

I'd say, pick the park(s) that most interest her and enjoy.

There are probably things she'd like to do that he won't - perfect time for that! Also, you might check out the board on traveling solo as an adult - seems a lot of people do this and have a great time. I bet they're brimming with suggestions! :flower3:

I'd take one of the tours, like Keys to the Kingdom. This would be great time to enjoy doing something your kids wouldn't want to do.

I think one of the many tours would be perfect!! I've done the Keys to the Kingdom at MK which was great, and I've heard nothing but great things about the Backstage tour - maybe an AK tour if she likes animals!!!

HTH!!!! :sunny:

I agree with taking a tour. An excellent way to spent all, or part of her day. DH and I did the Hidden Treasures of the World tour - It was just us and one lady who's DH was at a convention. We enjoyed each other's company and had a very nice time.

Great ideas! Hadn't even thought of the tours. I'll talk to her tonight. Yes, AK wasn't there last time they were there, so that's a must do!

I used to travel to WDW a few times a year solo for my job (conventions at the Dolphin or BW usually) and often visited the parks alone. I found that the most important part about touring alone is talking to people. Sometimes, I wouldn't end up riding anything, but just chatting with CMs, other guests, etc. Those interactions with people were often the highlight of my visit!

When you are alone, people are much more likely to talk to you - I guess they don't worry they are interupting. I really enjoyed it. I also took a LOT of pictures for people. If they are looking for someone to ask, they'll usually approach someone who is alone.

Epcot World Showcase is good - it is fun to just take the time to see the live shows and visit the gardens. Those are things we don't always stop to do when touring as a family. I also enjoyed MK on my own.

One last note - dining alone at WDW isn't the same as dining alone anywhere else. The CMs at the restaurant will take time to chat with you and make you feel very comfortable. Although I used to make a habit of carrying a book to meals when I was traveling alone on business, I found at WDW that I rarely needed it!
