We had to cancel our september trip and are adding a few days the second week in November for a trip to DW. We really want to get into and enjoy the new Star Wars area.
What is the general advice on a weekday for getting in? Do we get up 3 hours early and go or can we get in at other times? We have visits with local family etc. to plan as well
this trip and just want to be smart about planning. Are the crowds still pretty large or are they tapering off with fall arriving?

You will have no problem getting into SWGE. Its been wide open since the second day of operation basically. Crowds vary though. If you want lighter waits the late evening may be your best bet. Rope drop will also be an option since you will be there after the Extra Extra Magic Hours have ended.

Good advice. Been here for three days and Toy Story Land has more crowds than SWGE. It does ebb and flow. SWGE is just OK. Been there, done that, not worth going out of my way to see again. Has anyone actually downloaded the new app that interacts with things in GE? Didn't see anyone using it, no castmembers doing demo's on what it does and they didn't seem real excited about it when asked. Universals Harry Potter, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley set the bar real high and Disney missed the mark on this one. So disappointing.

To get the most out of Galaxys Edge and your visit to Batuu

  1. Learn the language to communicate with the citizens of Batuu, greet them with Rising Suns, use their words such as face scan, refresher, credit reducer, data pad, credentials etc etc
  2. Look at the menus before hand for Docking Bay and be aware that food has strange names, is not typical theme park food and may be more expensive than food in other lands
  3. Look at the menu before hand for Ogas Cantine, be away its a loud and busy standing BAR which may not be that enjoyable for kids. Be aware that the Cantina has bar snacks not food, that the drinks have strange names and may be more expensive than you are used to in other lands
  4. Be aware that Batuu does not have character meets like you expect in other lands, the characters are roaming and interact, rather than standing in one place where you wait in line to meet them.
  5. Be aware that Batuu is a trading outpost market planet set in the timeline of the new films. It is a new planet not featured in the classic films. It is not a a walk down memory lane into the "classic" films.
  6. Be aware that Battu is designed to transport you to a different planet, and that you will not hear the sweeping John Williams score blasted through speakers as you walk around. You hear aircraft noises and random sounds.
  7. Create your own back story, Disney Bound as a citizen of Battuu and join in with role playing. Be an active participant in the land, not just a passive observer. If you see a citizen of Battuu with a Loth Cat or Porg, ask what is its name.

For discussion about the play Disney app please head over to the appropriate thread. https://www.disboards.com/threads/s...mosphere-entertainment-interactivity.3728061/ Plenty of people there discussing how to play and achievements. I love the app and play each time i go.
You won't find cm doing demos on them cause it's not in their character descriptions
For the OP, visiting in the evening will be your best bet on lower crowds, crowds are continuing to grow and will do so as we move closer to the holiday season and the opening of RotR

I was there on Tuesday. We arrived around 12pm, wasn't very crowded. 70 min wait posted for MFSR, opted for the single rider line and we were in and out within 30 minutes. Have fun!

Great question!! We plan on spending time here on our trip. The rides, Oga's and the marketplace. Not planning on droids or lightsabers. Probably a plushy or something unique. Looking forward to it.

I've read that the crowds are rather large. Thankfully from everything I've seen you go more to check out the scenery and environment more so then the attractions. I would recommend trying to go at opening and not stopping at every ride or attraction, only the ones you want to do most.

have you actually been to Batuu or are you just assuming things from what you have read on the interwebz?

Going at park opening is a when the crowds are the largest and those of us who have actually been to Batuu advise against going at park opening.

Actually, crowds have been very manageable, and I've found going later in the day, or even at night, is fantastic. In addition, there's only one actual attraction open currently, Smugglers Run. Rise of the Resistance will be opening in December. Aside from that, there is the market, Ogas Cantina, Savi's workshop, the Droid Depot, and the Antique Store (sorry, forget the name!). I think your advice is actually the opposite of getting the most out of GE.

I’ll be curious to come back to this thread after Dec. 5th when ROTR opens. Will suggestions change or be similar? We’ll wait and see!

Try to learn Aurabesh or get familiar with the translate function of the app. There are some funny messages around the land if you can read them.
Where can you find the best “dictionary” for Aurabesh? I have seen some articles but they only had a few words in them.

Aurebesh is just an alphabet (named for the first two letters "Aurek" (A) and "Besh" (B)), so once you learn the letters, you can read anything written using Aurebesh in GE since it's all in Basic (i.e. English). So even if you forget some letters, you can usually fill in the blanks for what a word is. 443501

Yes, once you learn the alphabet you can figure out the words on the various signs around the outpost. My DH made himself a shirt with the words "Scrap Seeker" written in Aurebesh to wear to Savi's and the CMs loved it. You could tell who had been doing their homework -- one of the assistants inside Savi's read the shirt in a glance, as if he were reading his native language.
