Hi. Decided the treat the family - and take a second mortgage on the house :) - by staying at the GF this time around in Nov. Can I ask a few questions...

Best rooms or houses to request?
Any must sees/doos on the property?
Best kept secrets?

Thanks so much for your responses.

Congratulations. GF is a beautiful resort. We recently stayed there this past December. We booked a Garden View room and requested the third floor because I like to get as far away from noise as possible. We were placed in Boca Chica with a nice view of the courtyard pool in one of the rooms with the dormer windows that was very spacious because of the high ceiling.

We love to eat at Citricos and had a very nice breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Hopefully the Christmas decorations will be hope by the time you stay there because the Gingerbread House in the lobby is worth going to see even if you aren't staying at GF.

One more tip, take the resort boat back to the GF from MK instead of using the monorail. It is much quicker.

Pretty much agree with PP :) We also stayed in Boca Chica and really loved it. I was actually with a few friends for a Bachelorette party and they upgraded us to a Pool View which was so nice in the morning. We would sit out on the balcony and watch the hotel wake up.
Citricos is actually my favorite Signature on property and HIGHLY worth a visit.
We also really enjoyed the other stuff they have - the boats, ping pong by the pool and listening to the music in the lobby. Also, on your last day if you're killing some time, you can hang out by the pool and there are showers so you can get ready for the ride home after showering off.
Enjoy!

I stayed at the GF for the first time in 2010 and I was absolutely blown away. It was gorgeous. And there were people cleaning all the time, haha. We had a theme park view room in Big Pine Key, which I wouldn't recommend if you're really interested in the view of Magic Kingdom. It was one of the further out buildings, but nothing seemed very far.

We had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare one morning which is great, the organ there is really worth a look. And I loved the Garden View Tea Room. We had a wonderful view out of the window and saw Cinderella's carriage come by with liveried servants for a wedding (I assume). The Tea was so good that I had to buy some to bring home and I think I'll buy two when I get there in November :goodvibes We loved that the lobby seemed busy but not crowded or loud. There always seemed to be music from the piano or the band outside Mizners.

My secret is weird, but you have to try the hashbrowns for breakfast at Gasparillas. I don't know what's in them but they are wonderful :p

With the construction near the themed pool I would want a room on the over side of the resort either Sago Cay or Conch Key. Both have great views and are close to the boat dock, marina, main pool and the main building.

Hint---- " Lime- Coconut Martini" on 2nd Floor Lounge --- The rim is Sugared -grahm cracker's ---- oh so very Delish ----- That is of course if you drink ------If not just enjoy the Beautiful Resort ... :wizard:

We stayed there last summer and fell in love with the property!! My tip is take the monorail going to the MK because there are no stops. From the GF, the next stop is the MK. On the way back to the hotel from the MK, take the boat. Again, no stops. From the MK, the first stop is the GF. One night we were coming back from the MK and got aboard the boat. It pulled up to the GF boat dock and I waited a little bit expecting the mad rush of people to get off the boat. Nope!! We were the only ones getting off. Everyone else was going to the Poly. It was almost as if we had our own personal water taxi.

I go out of my way every year to eat at the GF Cafe. Food and service are excellent; you feel like you are sitting in someone's sun porch and the view overlooking the courtyard is fabulous.
