Can anyone offer me advice for seeing Fantasmic. We will be able to see it on Oct 20th, my son's birthday! My son is a night owl and while this is not great for school, it works really well for a late night at theme parks! Last May, we attempted to go to Fantasmic but it was insanely packed and we decided to get out of there. I really want to see it this time and we will be there at a busy time, it is UEA so we are expecting big crowds! Our plan is to catch the 2nd show. What is the best way to get to the seating area while the mob of people are leaving the first show? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks Hydroguy, I had read this thread before but I didn't remember finding out what is the best way to enter the viewing area for the second show? When we went in May it was insanely packed and after the fireworks there was a mob of people leaving and we decided to leave as well. We were squished like sardines in a can trying to leave. So I'm wondering where should I be located during the first show or fireworks that I can easily get into the viewing area for the second show. I saw where it said arrive at least 40mins before the show starts.

We will be there that weekend as well....and just curious, what is UEA?

I would recommend being in Critter Country. Have a late dinner/snack at Hungry Bear or ride Pooh/Splash until the show lets out. Everyone will head toward the hub and you are behind them.

If I understand your question then the F! thread talks about some options.

1. During the first show hang out in the HM and Splash Mtn area and then move in to the F! viewing area as people leave towards the hub

2. If you are in the hub area make your way thru Frontierland and hang out there by the MT boarding area until they get some clean up done and let folks
into the viewing area.

If you want to avoid being in a tight crowd the first option is by far the best.

Thanks! That was exactly what I needed to know! I did read it late at night and I could have missed it! I definitely want to try to avoid the tight crowd as much as possible!

UEA stands for the Utah Education Association. It's 2 day convention where all public teachers come for training. As a result all public schools k- 12 are closed. There is a mass exodus from the state to DLR
It is when schools in Utah are out for a Fall break, expect heavy crowds.

I wouldn't go through Fronteirland. I just 5 minutes ago on a Saturday night watched fireworks from the hub then went to F! There is a rope in Fronteirland And by the time they let you by all the spot where full. My wife waited in Fronteirland and I went against the crowds in front of jungle cruise. I found a seated spot almost to the back rope.

All my pre trip advice I got was go through Fronteirland. I have 4 small kids so a seated spot was a must and I barely got this. This idly first trip to DLR in years so I don't have much experience on crowds but they seem very heavy tonight.

Sorry. Typing on my phone. Meant to say this is my first trip to DLR. in years

Thanks! I think we are going to hang out around Splash Mt (Critter County) enter behind everyone.

I think you posted this in a thread a week or two ago and while your experience is of course valid it was clear it was an exception. I have done this with four kids without a problem. Many other posted similarly.

While getting a spot for the second show was tough last night (a saturday)I would still have done things the same way. We went through the F! area around 5 and most of the seated spots where saved. We only had one night to do both fireworks and F! Watching fireworks from the hub the first time was worth the effort

Thanks for all the tips to do it this way.

I did the second show 5 months ago and the first show was PACKED, but that made the rest of FL, NOS and CC pretty dead, so we did rides for a bit and then hung out around NOS for a few mins until the first F show was over. As people were shuffling out, we headed right in and got a spot right up front against the railing. The show still didn't start for a bit, but the wait wasn't terrible while sitting there with snack and cocoa. BEST seat I've had for F yet and you really can't beat the short lines for rides during the first showing! :thumbsup2
