advice for event goers...

Last year at the event, I witnessed a couple people who had some pins taken from their bags. I noticed also, these same people had more than one bag open. I too have twice had a pin taken from my bag. And I only had one bag open. What happened to me was, there were three people together (family) looking at my pins. I got busy chatting (distracted) with the one while one of the other two pulled a pin out of my bag leaving the pin back of course and leaving a definate whole on my page

Last year someone had a "flubber" out of their bag to show to someone, laid it down inside bag, the other friend with the pin napper, got him busy chatting (distracted), while the other guy took the flubber and walked off. There was even one poor soul, who while his back was turned, they took his whole bag, wet paint, jail scene and all!!

So just be careful, only have one bag open at a time, deal with one trade at a time, watch your pin bag always!! Of course, if you have someone with you, that's even better. They can help watch your stuff.

I don't mean to scare anyone, just use caution. The pin events are wonderful, really. But sadly, not everyone who attends is honest and "above-reproach". Like here in Daytona, the water looks beautiful and inviting, but we still have a shark or two lurking.
