Advice for Epcot and DHS in one day?

Hello! For the last day of our upcoming April trip we’re planning to spend ½ day at HS and ½ day at Epcot. I’m struggling with the best plan to make sure my 4-year-old daughter can do Frozen Ever After and 3-year-old nephew can do TSM and/or Alien Saucers.

TP says DHS will be crowd level 5, Epcot a 7.

Here’s the current plan:

Morning (HS): RD TSM, Alien Saucers, SDD (if time)

Afternoon (Epcot): FP Frozen, Nemo, Turtle Talk

Touringplans website currently says 20-30 min waits for the TSL rides. Does that sound accurate? I just noticed that DHS has morning EMH that day, which we won’t be able to use, and I’m worried that might make the TSL wait too long by 9am. Thoughts?

We considered doing RD at Epcot and FPP for HS in the afternoon. But since the TSL lines are tiered it seemed risky to go there in the afternoon since the lines will be much longer after we use our 1 FP. We do have a baby with us so I suppose we could try rider switch and have part of the group get TSM and the other half get Alien SS?

FYI that we’re 29 days out (I got my Epcot afternoon FPs yesterday) so only afternoon FPs are available for both TSL and Frozen.

Thanks for any advice!

TSL waits will be insane by the time you get in. Not sure why they are saying that.
I would grab the FPs and them modify them as much as possible. Over time you should be able to move them up in the day.

Welcome!

I've learned to put zero stock in TP crowd levels (or any crowd level calendar really). I've been on a level 3, or 5, or 9 day with no real noticeable difference in wait times. Lines in TSL are going to be much longer than that prediction at 9 AM. Also by the time you're off TSMM it's at least 9:45 at which time waits for SDD have only had another hour to grow.

In your case, I would RD Epcot for FEA, and snag the FP for TSM at HS in the late afternoon/ early evening. You're not likely to have a long wait at Nemo in the morning, and for Turtle Talk you're waiting a few minutes for the next show to start so that leaves FEA. RD FEA, then ride Nemo and see Turtle Talk. Enjoy whatever else you want to in Epcot and then head over to HS.

Get the afternoon/ early evening FP for TSMM or SDD (whichever one you most want to do- TSMM will likely have a 45-60 minute wait and I'm going to guess SDD will be at least 90 at this point), and ride AS2 standby (that typically has a short wait in comparison to the others).

A note about your thoughts on RS at HS. You wouldn't be able to use RS for TSMM because there's no height requirement, so the attraction doesn't offer RS. AS2 and SDD have RS available so you could try booking FP for 1/2 your party on each one but I caution you that CM's have inconsistently enforced that each member of your party must have FP to use RS in conjunction with FP so I don't recommend relying on it as a strategy unless you're prepared to be told the same. Knowing that, I would FP TSMM and ride AS2 standby, then take my chances with SDD (because that's the one you were willing to skip in the first place).
