We will be arriving at MK after 12:30 on April 9th. I know the park is open until 11:00 and we will probably want to see the late parade. And we also are going to have a big early lunch before going into the park. Any advice?

Hi Tweetie, Welcome to the Dis:earsboy: With that being a holiday weekend, you can expect MK to be pretty busy by 12:30.
I would scope out the lines at the attractions and ride what you can without waiting in long lines. If you're planning on touring until the park closes at 11pm, I would definitely go back to your resort for a break, and return later in the evening(after dinner perhaps). I offer this advice with a caveat: If you're only there for the weekend, Friday will probably be the least busy day at MK. In that case, you'd want to do as much as possible that day.
Also pending the ages of children in your group, your mileage may vary.

How about postponing your arrival until about 6PM or so if the park is open until 11? Maybe relax at your resort or check out DQ instead?

If you have your heart set on MK (and I don't blame you!), as soon as you get in, ride the railroad to Frontierland and grab a fast pass for either Big Thunder or Splash Mountain, they may be for way later in the day by then! Since you'll just be arriving, wait in line for one of these rides if you can. We don't mind waiting sometimes at the beginning of a day (and it will be lunch time, so the line might not be as long). Then enjoy as much of the park as you can.

I know you said you were going to have a big early lunch, but since you are planning on staying until 11:00, why don't you ride the monorail to, say, the Kona Cafe for dinner. The monorail ride and the nice relaxing dinner will give you the energy to stay all night!

Have fun!

Harambe, good idea on monorail to Poly for dinner break - now you have me hungry thinking of the Kona Cafe

Seeing the late parade is a good idea since most people see the first one - might give you a break on some attraction wait times - during the first parade might be the best time to hit BTMRR and Splash Mountain as the lineups might dry up for the parade time

Remember the 1st evening parade (I am pretty sure) goes from Main Street and exits out Frontierland just south of Splash so timing for the ride lines is something to consider

thanks
