Advice for a first-time 180-day ADRer? (DVC)

Hello everyone,

I need some advice. My new wife (April 1st, 2011) and I are planning our first trip to WDW as a married couple. We just became DVC members and are very excited to stay at Beach Club Villas (our home resort), as it will be our first time staying at anything above a Moderate.

I want to make this trip perfect, and that would include ADRs at CRT and Le Cellier. I figured out that because we are arriving on Sunday, November 13th, I'd need to start making our ADRs on May 17th. I am willing to wake up at whatever time is necessary. So, I need some advice on what is the best way to ensure that I get the reservations I want.

Should I call the DVC member services line? They seem very friendly and helpful, but their line opens at 9am EST.
Should I call the main reservation line? Would they accept my DVC reservation confirmation number go do the 180+10 day reservations? What time do they open?
Should I just use the website? What time would I start doing that? Does that process go smoothly, or is it unreliable, like buying concert tickets online the moment they come out?

I would really appreciate any advice you'd have for us.

Thanks in advance,
Aydin Turgay

P.S., Does anyone know, off-hand, when is the latest available ADR for Garden Grill? I've heard that because Future World closes earlier, they don't offer very late bookings.

First log into WDW's website and link your confirmation number to your email NOW. It'll hopefully make the reservation process easier. On your ADR date you can make ADRs online at 6am Easter time or you can call at 7am Eastern time. Online is very easy and since it's an hour earlier, I'd go that route first. If you are having trouble getting anything or the site is being temperamental you can call the dining line. No need to go through DVC for reservations.

I think booking online is easiest. Disney dining, whether you call the dining line or book online, accepts the DVC reservation numbers.

I prefer to do the ADR booking online. If you log in you get the confirmation #'s sent to your inbox. Do go online and play around a bit before your 180 day to familiarize yourself with it. You can pretend to book things and then cancel out before you actually book it.

I just wanted to make sure you know that Le Cellier is a signature restaurant for dinner (2 TS credits) and (1 TS credit) for lunch.

I'm not sure how late Garden Grill is open. The building is open later than 7pm and doesn't close when some of Future World closes. It will be a hard ADR to get as it's only open for dinner now.

I recommend online as well. The system will recognize the DVC confirmation number.

I have had a 7:10 reservation for Garden Grill.

I agree, online is easier. Use your DVC confirmation number. I just made mine last week, I logged on at 6:01 and was finished my 7 reservations at 6:12.

FIGURED OUT>>> THANKS!!!
Can someone explain how you link your reservation number so you can do the 180 +?? thanks This is my first time doing dining reservations online.(which I prefer :thumbsup2)

Wow - thanks for all of the great advice.

I've set myself up on the website, and I've given myself tons of reminders to wake up at 5:50 on Tuesday morning. I'm gonna go practice now!

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again,
Aydin

Hey,

It's 6:22am and I JUST finished making all of my ADRs online - 8 days worth in only 22 minutes!!

I got everything I wanted, and more-or-less the time I requested, even Cinderella's Royal Table and Le Cellier!

Thanks for all of the great advice!

That's great - isn't the online thing easy? As long as it's working (it's not perfect), it's so simple to use vs. calling on the phone and waiting. Great for us control freak types!
