My family will be visiting Blizzard Beach for the first time on July 5th. Any words of wisdom or advice for this park? We have been to a couple of water parks in the past, but not at Disney. There will be DH, me and our twin DDs (10).

Thanks!

If you want lawn chairs get there when the park opens. If you plan on doing summit plummit wear a one piece:eek: Make sure you do the family raft ride-it is the best. You will love this water park. Have fun.

It's FAB. Wear a one piece whatever you do. Blag chairs then a locker before you hit the slides. If you wanna do summit plummet, do it first as the queues are HUGE later in the day. Oh and you have to do teamboat springs, it's a family raft ride and its great. One other thing, try the funnel cakes (maybe they're an american thing, but we dont have them here in the UK)

I love Blizzard Beach, but be warned that it gets verrrrrrrrry crowded in the summer. With July 5th being a holiday for most folks I wouldn't be surprised if there are near record crowds if the weather is nice. My advice is to get there very early (at least 30 minutes before opening) and to have your admission purchased in advance. After entering you'll want to quickly grab chairs and ride any of the bigger slides that your family really wants to hit. Lines will probably be prohibitive from around 11-2 so this is a good time to enjoy the theming, wave pool, lazy river, etc. where crowds will be less of an issue.

A second piece of advice is that if an afternoon storm hits, try to ride it out. We were there once when it rained off an on all afternoon. People left in droves. Slides did close initially when there was lightening, but re-opened and stayed open the rest of the afternoon. We practically had the place to ourselves. It was plenty warm and we were already wet. One of my family's favorite Disney memories.

Bring Auqa Socks or sandels that you can wear while walking around BB. The pavement tends to get VERY HOT and their is plenty of it.

I would grab seats by the ski patrol area. It is a great place for 10 year olds. I would do all the rides first, after you put your stuff on chairs. The slides will have very long lines and the river will get very crowded later in the day. The ski patrol area is a great place for 10 year olds to hang out and it still a place where an adult can go in and get wet and cool off. Get chairs near the place where there are icebergs and the kids walk across. There are some shady places there that you can still see the icebergs so you can watch your kids. The water there is about 3 to 4 feet deep and you can go in to cool off and still watch your kids.

BB is my favorite water park.

Anyone know how they measure at BB for the 48" requirement for some of the slides? It looks like there are about 4 slides (is that right?) that require a 48" min. requirement. Do they measure you upon entry and give you a wristband? And if you don't quite make the cut, but are still a thrill-seeker (our DS 7 is about 1/8 of an inch shy of the 48" requirement from our measurements at home - barefoot) is there still lots to do that is 'thrill-seeking'?

They don't measure at the gate but do at each ride that requires the 48 inches. I think there is a ton of stuff to do without those rides.

I'm a bit nervous now. Is it going to be SO packed that we won't enjoy ourselves?

If we go first thing in the morning, will it not get too crowded until afternoon? If we could have a good 3 hours (9-12:00) without being packed in, that wouldn't be too bad.

What do you think? Will we be able to enjoy ourselves on July 5th?

Thanks!
