I have been pondering this one since I got my Cricut 2 years ago. I am just wondering, does it really cut chipboard? Is it worth it if all I wouldl use it for is chipboard??

Sorry to butt in, but how do you get the chipboard to stick to your mat? Please help! It keeps sliding everytime I try.

I received one as a gift last year and finally used it recently to cut 'cereal box' thickness chipboard. I had to use multicut, and eventually finished the tough corners with scissors. Of course it could have been the complexity of the shape - a 10 inch long dog bone. It made cutting them a lot easier than if I'd had to do the old template and scissors method, though!

I don't know how to get it to stick to the mat, sorry. But thought I'd share something someone suggested in a crop I went to. They used cardboard from cereal boxes and I think they cut it with a regular blade, but I'm not sure on that.
It just appealed to me because chipboard is too fat for me to want to use in my scrapbook. I scrap so many pictures that I don't need something else to fatten them up!

Sounds like time for a new mat -- or tape the edges?

I thought about getting the deepcut blade to make shrinky-dink charms, and maybe to cut out magnet material, but at the price and the rare need for it, it doesn't seem worth it. (I have way too much precut chipboard stuff from pre-cricut days that I need to use up!).

I am thinking it is a "no"... I use fairly thick chipboard and usually just cut it by hand. A lot of work, but in the end, if the blade will not do the job, I would be doing the same thing anyways.

thank you so much for all of your feedback!! You just saved me $$$!!! (And frustration when it did not work as I had hoped).

speaking about the price of it...i got one last week off of Amazon.com...the housing and blade for $10.00
