Advice: Dining Plans for Foodie Frauds (edition 4: 12/29)

I think your plan is a good one. I can't vouch for Akershus, though, and there may be better meals than there. Tutto Italia has always been good for us, for instance, but they're closing for renovations for the spring. If you want to meet the Princesses, though, stick with it!

I agree with your general idea of doing two meals a day with a signature as one of those meals. For anyone on the Deluxe plan, I suggest doing just that. Three full meals ends up being too much food after a few days.

And to respectfully disagree with the other poster, bottled water is a GREAT use for credits on the Deluxe plan, especially with the CL snacks, you'll have more credits than you know what to do with.

Also agree on Citricos over Narcoossee's. Dont let anyone talk you out of Flying Fish (notice nobody has tried :) ), and at California Grill, we've had some of our best and worst meals at WDW, but the highs make it worth a shot, especially when taking the view into consideration.

Most of all, enjoy!!

I think I may be the only one who loved Narcoossee's. It was a wonderful atmosphere, quiet & fantastic view. We were on the DxDP for the first time in October and we both loved everything we ate there. I would go back there for sure if we ever got the DxDP again :)

As for Boma breakfast, I would change that to a dinner... we loved Boma's dinner.

Brown Derby was the only one I disliked. It was our server. We had way too much to eat that day and our server forced my son to eat. The food that we did have was "okay" but I wish we had done a different meal and at a later time.

Good luck & have fun!!! DxDP is awesome!

More huge thanks to all who added their advice! After going over the wine list with hubs, we decided on Citricos at 9:15pm. I think that gives us plenty of time to take in Wishes from Poly beach. If only the GF spa wasn't closed for renovations - would have been an even better day one start to vacation!

I know you said that you are staying away from MK to watch Wishes due to your DH having an issue with crowd/noise. If you wanted to watch Wishes from MK, would he be able to hadle watching them from the train station on MSUSA? There usually aren't many people up there and if you get there early enough you could get spots looking straight down MSUSA with no one in front of you. While it's not the best view while in MK, it is still better than the view from anywhere outside the MK. I also happen to like it because I usually can't stand watching parades or fireworks with the big crowds on MSUSA. Then after Wishes it's a pretty quick exit out of MK and you could decide to either take the ferry to GF (the more relaxing, nicer route) or take the monorail around (usually the much quicker route).

Of course if you don't want to risk it or don't plan on going to the parks that day at all, there is nothing wrong with the Poly beach. I personally find that with the fireworks being so far from there that it doesn't really feel like I'm there to watch Wishes but more like I'm just sitting on a beach and there happens to be fireworks being shot off in the distance.

I am going to see what he thinks about it - being at a height and distance makes it a much different experience than being right next to the castle. I think it would work best on the CG night that way it is a quick out and walk to get away for dinner. Frankly, I have never been inside the Poly other than to go to the Luau show in the 80s. I have wanted to stay there since I was little after watching numerous happy-in-love couples get off the monorail there - it just looked like the honeymoon place to be even though I know it is one of the most family-friendly deluxe resorts.
