Advice: Digital Camera with Image Stability

The Kodak z740 I have now is giving me problems, so I am looking for a camera that had anti-shake/ image stability.

I found Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3, which looks nice, but it doesn't have all the features I am looking for (although I probably could live without them).

My Kodak has settings for fireworks, action, night, close-up, museum, etc. and I would ideally like to find a camera that has similar.

I need to have the anti-shake feature.

I would prefer it use SD memory, but CF is ok. I would also prefer it to use only 2 AA batteries, but will deal with 4 AA's.

I am not that experienced (trying to become though) so I would like something fairly easy to use.

Oh, and I would like to keep it at a reasonable price (under $300.00). (I do not mind refurbished).

I appreciate any help. DH is thinking of getting me a new camera for our anniversary next month.

absolutely LOVE my canon s1 is, wish I had the s2, but I LOVE this camera! the image stabilization rocks and I love the cont. shoot mode.. makes it ever so much easier to get that "perfect" shot at the irish dance competitons. :goodvibes maggie
ps: I have gotten good fireworks shot with it as well.
