We were originally planning to book a Category 4 (we are a family of 5, with a toddler in pack and play), but after reading the boards, a lot of folks seem to like to book connecting cabins which sounds like a better idea, so what do you think, book connecting cabins in category 9 or category 8? My concern with the category 8 on Deck 6 is that the cabins seem to be at the end of the ship-is the motion too much there? I'm a little concerned with sea sickness, none of us have cruised before! Thanks for any advice! :earsboy:

We have been in both Cat 8 and Cat 9's....they are identical cabins except the deck location. We happen to like Deck 2 better than Deck 8....and we save a bit of money doing it that way. Deck 2 is very nice and very convenient to most ship activites. For the pool deck it is only an elevator ride away!!!

We stayed in a cat 8 on deck 7...forward and didn't have a problem with motion...or seasickness. There was actually very little motion felt..I'd say no more than anywhere else on the ship.

Have stayed forward on Deck 7 in a Cat. 8 twice, with a third time in 3 1/2 weeks, have never had a motion problem. Booking two staterooms, the cost difference between 8's and 9's can add up to somebody's cruise fare. You've had an endorsement for deck 2 on this thread, and I like deck 7 because I never take an elevator except when getting back on board after going ashore--two quick flights up to deck 9 and the pool, bars, beverage station, buffet, ice cream, plutos, and then one more for DS' favorite location, the basketball court. Or down 2 to Oceaneer's Club and Lab, Movies, down 3 or 4 to restaurants or the Walt Theater. The staterooms are the same. Perhaps sometime I might try a deck 2 Cat. 9.

We have always found Deck 2 very convenient.....really, really so when coming back or leaving the ship in port (Deck 1).... (except at port canaveral where you board on Deck 3).

You are only one deck away from anything that takes place in the atrium like character meet and greets, photos, "Till We Meet Again", also Lumiere's, guest service, shore excursion desk, adult clubs, etc. Also one deck above the medical center (Deck 1)

Two decks away from Walt Disney Theatre, shops, Studio Sea.....

Three decks away from kids clubs, movie theatre.

The only decks that we took an elevator to were the pool deck on 9 and Palo on 10. Everything else was so close!!!

All passenger hallways are pretty much identical.
