I am going to Disney in April and am staying at Beach Club. However for the first night I need to get a Hotel room. Do I take advantage of Disney free transportation from the Airport book at a Pop Century or a place like that, or do I stay off grounds and pay for transportation? How much money can I save? Pop Century is going to cost me around $130 for one night.

Thanks

I don't really have an answer to your question, but you're bound to be able to get a better deal than $130. Try looking at www.mousesavers.com. I got $84 per night at a value resort through that website. At this point you probably won't be able to go that low but I'm sure you could do better than what you're planning on paying now.

Big advantage of renting thru Disney for the first night is that they will move your luggage on Day 2 to your new resort. A little more seamless to stay with Disney and use ME from the beginning...I have also stayed off property for first night to save $$$ but that was before ME and value resorts. Plus I had a car so moving from resort to resort was easy.

You might consider staying at an airport hotel when you get in. That way, you can go back to the airport itself the next morning and take Magical Express to Beach Club. You can use Priceline and get an airport hotel for whatever you're willing to pay. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com for some guidance on how much to bid. Even if you pay $65 for the hotel room, you're saving more money since you don't have to pay for additional transportation. If you don't Priceline it, I think you can get rack rates and still save on transportation costs. FYI: I believe the Hyatt is located literally in the airport so you don't have to take a shuttle.

I've check with Disney about this option before. They just ask that you let them know so that they "book" you on the ME ride on the morning following your arrival rather than the night before.

Towncars will cost about $100 round trip.
