drumflower,

Most of us are content to raise our children as we see fit and to leave others to do the same with their offspring. Then there are those who believe there is only one true response to every decision a parent must make and they, of course, know what it is. And they're not shy about sharing it!

Ditto again, Bill! :teeth: I am glad to see that you didn't sign off!
I think we all know our kids and have to to the best for our kids and our families. Personally I wouldn't take any kids to AC if they can't sit still or enjoy the silly acts. Nobody wants kids being annoying because they are bored. I feel I am respectful to people around me and if my kids are acting up, I do something about it. Not all kids are the same. Not all adults are the same. I think if Disney truely wants PI to be adults only , they would do so. Like not having PI an option on the child's Park Hopper Plus .
If I truely felt AC was only a bar, then I would not take them in. If the comedy was R-rated, then no way. I have been to AC , Comedy Club, and the jazz club with my kids and we had a great time. I felt the jazz club was in a much safer environment than in most areas jazz clubs are located. We go early in the evening and then leave early to go to bed! (boy I feel old) Most important we have fun! I bet your family does also!

We have people who have paid a fee to engage in an activity that they find enjoyable and who are acting within the bounds set by the provider of the entertainment. They are not responsible for how anyone else feels about it, nor are they under any social obligation to to deny themselves this enjoyment to satisfy the sensibilities of the easily discomfited.

I guess I was one of those horribly rude people who inadvertently made other people "uncomfortable" by taking my children (12 and 13) to the early CW and AC shows this September. For the record, I did ask a CM before entering each venue if the material was appropriate for preteens/teens, and they both looked at me like I was crazy for asking and replied, "This is Disney!!! It's PG-13." CW was completely appropriate and the AC was somewhat risque at times, but most of that humor went over their heads. I'm of the opinion that I would like my children to experience new situations that might need explaining in my presence. While I didn't bring them to these shows for this purpose, these situations are great catalysts for starting conversations and instructing them on responsible behaviour. I might add that many people made me uncomfortable around the parks and at the pools this time around. There was nudity GALORE (naked 7 year old boys at the pool, a man mooning us in Epcot, somebody walking around in a bra), and these situations were WAY more disturbing to my girls than anything they saw when they were out, appropriately dressed, behaving in a civil way, with their responsible, sober parents.

The only rude thing I see is from one poster in particular, who's posts have been reported to the moderator. Yes, you know who you are. puckerup: Everyone have a great Disney Day!

Disney will allow ANYONE into Pleasure Island. All of the clubs have restrictions. All clubs require guests to be 18 years or older to enter. Anyone age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The exceptions are the BET Soundtage and Mannequins. These clubs require guests to be 21 or older. Nobody aged 20 or under will be admitted.

Whether or not it is APPROPRIATE is not a topic for the Theme Parks boards. That's a parenting decision.

As such, I have removed posts that were personal attacks, and am locking this thread.
