You have been so wonderful getting good information to us over the years Robert. Most of it has been information to make us smile, but this information makes me terribly sad. I'm glad to get it from you, since that sure beats being surprised next January.

The Adventurers' Club was, is, and will always be "my nightclub." We live in Boston, and even if I wanted to go to a nightclub I couldn't get in the door. To begin with I'm twice as old as the average patron, and I have none of the other characteristics of the beautiful people they want in the clubs.

The Adventurers' Club is a place where adults can go, relax, sing dumb songs, make dumb pledges, interact with the cast and other patrons, get up on stage in front of their daughter and twirl with Bessie the Cow, dear god this is making me sad. I love the place. I can go there with Martha, Lesley, Cam, Howard, Rhonda, Mike, and others of our group, and have a great time. I get to stay out way past my bedtime, and even come back to the hotel when the first number on the clock says 1. At may age that may be death-defying, but I'm willing to take the chance.

And on the Monday after Marathon Weekend I can go in, and everyone can laugh at us laughing at ourselves, because it's not possible to sit down in a chair without making noises expressing the pain in our legs.

Emil (lime spelled backwards!) Bleehall, Hathaway Brown, The Colonel, Babylonia, Professor Otis T Wren, Pamelia Perkins, the Maid, Fletcher Hodges, Graves, Samantha Sterling. You've given me some great evenings, I will miss you all terribly.

Thanks again to Corporate Disney. You market to adults who previously visited with their small children, trying to get them to return as couples, with no responsibilities, and more freedom to do things at night. Then you yank this out from under that target audience. I do understand that yet another restaurant or T-shirt shop, since we all know Orlando doesn't have enough of them, will bring in more revenue and margin to corporate HQ in Burbank. Wonderful. Take away something truly unique and replace is with something completely common. Congratulations for yet again showing you'll sell another piece of your soul for $1. After doing this again and again over the past few years, it must be pretty hard to find those few pieces left in the vaults in Burbank.

Since I'll not be back before it closes, my last visit was this past January. As always, I had a ball. Sad.

Marching along we're adventurers
Singing the song of adventurers
Up or down, north, south, east, or west
An adventurers life is best
An adventurers life is best

Kungaloosh!

(A utilitarian greeting, meaning hello, goodbye, or don't touch that, it's dead)

This is so sad. I've never been there but I am certainly planning on it now when I go in September. Everyone I know who has been absolutely loves it.

Thank you, Robert, for the petition. I'm going right over to sign it.

Thanks Robert, I have added my name to the list of customers/guests who think closing the Adventurers' Club is a terrible idea.

I suspect this will have the same effect as sending a letter to Washington (He's been dead over 200 years!), as I'm pretty sure the economics of the decision are shown in the analysis. It's just the AC was an original, and they are replacing it with the typical Orlando stuff.

What's next; closing Mr. Toad's Wild Ride? Oops, they did that already. How about changing the Enchanted Tiki Room? Too late again. It appears I should become a Cubs fan, since I seem to support the underdog.

Hello Miss Judith Ann.

Hello, Handsome. ;)

I'll leave it to you two to figure out which of you I am talking to. :rolleyes1

I wonder if there is any chance they will leave AC alone... Did they say specifically they were closing AC permanantly?

Yes, they did mention it as well as Comdedy Club and the other night clubs.

Rumors are that Disney will be doing a new night Park in the future(2011) and it will have a version of AC. Rumors from other sites.

I have never been here either, but have been planning it for a long time. Darn.

Oh and Judy since all our princesses are breathtakingly beautiful then all us guys are at least socially acceptable.

Sad Panda:hippie:

Kungaloosh!

What better spot to rest your tired and achy body, with a pint in hand, and laughs galore.

I won't make it back in time, but we loved the mask room, the sinking bar stool, and the characters in the show.

WHAT?!?! They are really closing!! Well...I have no reason to go to Pleasure Island now and I'm sure they will feel the sting of all of the other people that feel the same way. No more buckets of alcohol for me!

I have contemplated going this September (money will be tight this trip) but now it's a must.

This is a total Bummer, who do we wright too.... off to the petition.
Robert thanks ofr that link.

That sucks, I loved that place the one time that the dbf's family took us. We saw a show with a woman who had Mark up on stage dancing around. Great fun.

I've always wanted to go back with the dbf.
