Has anyone been here before? It looks rather interesting. Also, is it appropriate to take a 12 and 16 year old to?

Any info is appreciated. :earsboy:

This could be opening a huge can of worms..... I personally have taken my DD10, but there are plenty of DISers who will tell you it is not appropriate for you children to be there.... When we have gone it has been early and we don't stay late......

check out this website. It is very debated whether to bring kids or not. A lot of people say that if you go early when it opens it is fine. However as the night goes on, people start to drink a little too much. If you do go, you can also try the comedy club.

This question gets asked every so often. Personally, I love the Adventurers' Club and never miss a chance to go. We occasionally encounter younger children there, but they are not generally appreciated by the older crowd. A frequent response to the question is "If you don't take your kids to bars at home, don't take them to AC".
But if you do decide to visit, be aware that the later you stay, the greater the risk of encountering a little "bawdy" humor.

This one's a bit of a tossup. While you can bring kids, it's generally not appreciated by the other customers because if there are children present, the show will be toned down. However, that doesn't mean that if you bring your kids, they won't hear anything adult. Some of the comedy is a bit bawdy, and the later it gets, the more off-color it gets. No swearing or anything like that, but there will definitely be sexual innuendos, etc.

Although it is an entertainment venue, it is a bar, and a lot of the entertainment is reasonably adult subtle improv comedy. Your 16 year old will probably be old enough to get the humor. ;) The 10 year old will probably be bored.

If you do go, you'll probably want to leave before people get too deep into their third round of Kungalooshes- the drinks are pretty strong at the AC and people do get a bit drunk and silly in there.

The 16 yo is fine - the 12 yo might be a bit young. If you take the 12 yo, I would do like those above said & do it early. It does get risque & will be over the 12 yo's head anyways.

I didn't take my DS to AC or CW til he was 16. He loves them & we do them alot now.

If you take them, take them very early. Sixteen is probably alright, but any younger and a lot of the humor will be over his head. Younger than 10 should just skip PI all together.

Remember, it's a bar, so it's an adult area. And there are going to be grumblings regardless of how old your kids are. Some people go to PI in order to release the stress of being around thousands of other people's children all day long and don't appreciate seeing young ones at an adult area. And at PI, if you bring kids in, YOU WILL hear things from other adults, and you don't really have much recourse.

Leave the kids in the room, take the spouse and have a blast, AC is great, we never miss it.

Everyone will say I am a bad parent but we took our 4 and 7 year old and they loved it. The staff loved them and made sure we brought them back the next night, they actually got a few letters from their new found friends at the club once we got home.

We have taken children there, HOWEVER, it was right when the Park opened, we stayed for the first show and then left. The show is fine for young children IMO and if you go early enough its not busy either.

Yea, pretty much go earlier, because it can get a little more "adult" as the night goes on. Also, as one poster mentioned, guests start to get a little "colorfull", language-wise, so you would not want your kids there. :drinking1 :drinking1

I never miss an opportunity to visit AC and have taken my kids since they were in High School. I never took them when they were younger. We adults need a little disney magic of our own. They got Neverland Club, we got Adventurer's Club.

My husband and I go to the Adventurer's Club each and everytime we visit Disneyworld ... WE LOVE IT !!!!!!!
With that said ... on our last trip we could not get a sitter for the kids (10 & 12) so we took them with ... we enjoyed ourselves alot less because our daughters were not having a good time (they thought it was all a bit much plus is was in a "bar" which they said was no place for kids ... honest they actually said that !!!)
I will not be taking them again untill they are alot older and can enjoy it as much as their father and I do.

We take our two children several times on every visit. They are 8 and 14. They love it, we love it, we stay late and offer no apologies. To each his own......

I love the Adventurer's Club. My husband and I first went on our honeymoon back in 1997. It was so much fun.

We just went again in October. My MIL offered to watch the children for us since we missed out on a lot of the adult rides during the day. My DH anI headed straight to the club. We got to see the Halloween show.

Both times I went, I didn't see any children. And I'm not always a good judge of age with teens, so I may not have noticed. The humor can be raunchy and there is a lot of drinking. (Both good things ;) )

My children are babies so this issue hasn't come up for me. I can't say what I'd do in the future, but I imagine it is nice to have some alone time with your significant other, if possible. ;)

My son was 10 when he went the for the first time, it was one of rhe highlights of his trip. He really loosened up after his second kungaloosh. :rotfl2: (kidding!)

HA!! You made me laugh out loud on that one!!! We always joke about our kids, too! If we go out with friends they ask "Oh, is your mom watching the kids?" "Nah...we just put out a bowl of Cheerio's and left 'em!" :rotfl:

I've always wanted to see this place!! Do you need a PI ticket to go in?

Yep - It's TOTALLY worth it. We go to the first show at the Comedy Warehouse & then hop to AC & stay til close. The later it gets, the wilder it gets. I don't drink & I have a Blast! We got PAPs last year just so we could do AC & CW every night if we wanted to.

I have to say that DH and I went in Sept and had a BLAST!!!!! But.....we left DS at home (gasp) and I don't consider it a place for kids. I wouldn't think really appealing for kids (ie the humour etc), but also judging by my behaviour (apologies to anyone who was there) I think I got a bit loud. I defiantely was feeling pretty good by the end of the night and things had gotten a bit 'adult'. If I would have seen kids I would have thought the parents should not have brought them....that is just me being honest - not asking whether I am right or wrong to feel that way.
