Hello All

I am looking for some advice - my husband is quite keen to go The Adventurers Club in PI - but I am quite shy or maybe just a reserved Brit!! Do you think I would enjoy it - I have tried to find info. about what goes on from varoius websites - it does sound intersting but I am not sure.

What do those that have visited AC think?
We have never been to PI at all on our other four visits to WDW but we want to do things differently this time - our trip is this September.
Thanks,
Claire:D

Dear Claire,

Without a doubt, I am an outgoing, personable, and perhaps loud individual, but DW is the quiet, shy type who absolutely hates having attention brought to herself. Like most interactive places in Disney (the 50's PT comes to mind), the CM's at the AC seem to have a sense for who's who, and even if they come your way, at the first site of discomfort, they'll back off.

DW (the shy one!) has found the AC to be her favorite place in Disney despite having similar reservations to your own the first time. Imagine a shy non-drinker in the AC! Now,we have a tendency to show up at 7 PM and close the joint!

I have all the faith in the world there's a place for a shy Brit there! Worry not. These folks are professionals and do their job well, and that includes who feels like being part of the dance, and who just wants to listen to the music. I honestly wouldn't give it a second thought.

Good luck and enjoy!

Pat

In one of those "Unofficial Guides" that they have it dubbed as a "British Comedy". Apparently every half hour or so, groups of actors start doing there thing. You think you are sitting with other guests but they are not! Sorry I can't give more details but left the book at my mom's. They also recommend you stay at least an hour to get the full effect of the place.

Hope this helps

GO! You will not regret it. I am not a very outgoing person, but AC is my favorite place to spend an evening. The CMs can sense reluctance to interact and if they don't, you can quietly tell them you are there to "watch the show." They'll spread the word and you can relax and gradually interact as you feel comfortable.

You will have a great time. The characters are hilarious; the shows are wonderful.

Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply so quickly and for providing such thoughtful answers!!

I think we will go for it!

We are trying to do different things this trip and I am enjoying passing the months until September with trip planning.

The Adventurers Club will have to go in the plans! Maybe I should plan it for early in the trip incase it becomes my favourite place at WDW too!

Thanks for the help,
Claire

I missed the fact you were going in September. GREAT month for PI and the AC! A suggestion: go the first night and get yourself the "Carpe PM" pass if it's being offered. Buy your first night's ticket and immediately upgrade it to a five night ticket for five bucks.

Not to gush about the AC, but over the last four years, it's become "the place" to DW and me. The rest of the clubs are really nice clubs, but the AC is so "Disney." The Magic lives there. They'll take you away to another place.

Oh, I can't wait for June!

Hi Claire4dpins

Welcome to the DIS. I think you will really enjoy Adventurer's Club. My husband and I both love spending an evening there.

Being shy shouldn't stop you from enjoying the fun there :) It's just about the only smoke free environment at WDW, too. We like that part a lot :)

I was thinking of going to the AC this June and was wondering if any kids are in the club and what age might be apropriate?:)

Always a question that causes great debate, but the debate is not about the AC or PI in general, more about how folks feel about kids in bars.

I have seen a fair share of young children in PI, and mostly in the AC. The CM's seem very good with them. However, know two things about the AC. First, drinking is occuring and encouraged. Second, as the drink flows, so does the double entendre. I'd say over ten is appropriate early in the evening, but if it was me, I'd get anyone under 16 out by about 10 PM. Those are somewhat arbitrary figures, but perhaps a good guideline.

I agree with Pat. Keep in mind that the AC is a nightclub in the Disney "theme park for adults".

It always depends upon the maturity level of your children, but there are raunchy jokes, and recreational consumption of alcoholic beverages, and late hours. You might want to try it yourself to see whether or not you'd feel comfortable bringing your kids.

Good advice! Never thought about the time! My son is 16 and we probably would go early, dought if I would even be there past 10.:)

Go to www.adventurersclub.net and have a look around. If you click on the big picture at the top of the page you can learn all sorts of neat things about the AC. If nothing else, it'll give you an idea of what the AC is all about.

Cheers
