Adventureland needs something..IMO

You know what they could change in Adventureland?

They could expand Aloha Isle to have a few more registers & machines so I don't have to wait in a long line to get my dole whip!

I don't get the dissatisfaction with the Aladdin Carpets. I enjoyed my tame ride, and I feel that the concept of the adventure of riding a flying carpet is suited for Adventure Land. I love the classics Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room , and it would be tragic to see either of them go. I can't stand Indiana Jones or Dinosaur, but that is my personal opinion. I feel that the many fans of the Indy ride and franchise deserve it at the World. Just like Star Tours is in Tomorrowland at DL, Indy could fit into HS in the World. I would not support taking anything from Adventure Land. If anything were to be added, I think it the Jungle Book is way over due for it's own attraction.. Maybe a dark ride, or a kiddie coaster designed to look like Kaa or something like that.

I LOVE DINOSAUR!!! It is a little scary, I admit. My best friend and sister HATE going on with me, but they do it anyway...

I don't find it scary at all! That's the problem. It's just a loud, jerky ride that I guess is supposed to be scary, but isn't. I went in there prepared to be scared and came out bitterly disappointed after all the hype.

I love the ride; it's a blast. I'd just love it more somewhere else where it wasn't a major traffic clogger. That space wasn't designed to have a ride in it.

worldneedscolor- I don't blame you for feeling that way. It just isn't the same. Do you love DL It's a Small World? That was a shocker for me at MK, esp the exterior of the ride.

Small World is another one of my favorites; such a classic! What's different about the MK version? I did just look up the exterior, and it is terrible! At least compared to DL's, which is beautiful

The Jungle Cruise is a blast at night with the right skipper. I hope that they never change it except maybe to tweak the displays. They should serve drinks and snacks in the Tiki Room. It would be fun to rest with a drink while the birds sing. I'm glad that it's the way it once was.

I agree that the Aladdin ride looks awful where it is. I don't know what to say about the Swiss Family Treehouse. The attraction is tiring and dull but the tree is so gorgeous.

We were at MK yesterday with minimal crowds, etc able to do all the rides. I think Adventureland could use something... Not sure even what. The old tiki show is SO so bad (I know it is a classic) and the jungle cruise is just ok, Swiss family tree house I love... But has anyone under the age of 35 even heard of the movie? I would love to see them remake the movie with a modern touch. Imagine teens stranded with no screens..lol.

Am I the only one tht thinks this area of the park is lacking something? I LOVE mk, I really do.. But that area seems like it could be so much better!

I'm 24 and I've seen the movie many times.

I 100% agree that Indian Jones ride should come to DW.

I went to DL for the first time 2 years ago with my mom. I have never seen any of the indian jones movies and am not really even sure what it's about (weird, I know) Anyways... I LOVED THIS RIDE! I HONEST TO GOD FELT LIKE I WAS INDIANA JONES. I am not even kidding. It was amazing. I must have went on in 5-6 times. It was truly amazing.

BRING IT TO DW!

I agree, the exterior of IASW at DL is just amazing. The MK ride has a different exterior and is just shorter and chopped up. I don't recall this myself, but I think I read the dolls for each Disney cartoon in the various lands aren't there either? But that doesn't matter to me too much. I do like seeing Arial in Tahiti and Mulan in China etc, but those dolls weren't added until I was an adult so I don't cling as hard to them. :hyper:

Back on topic, I agree with the poster above me, I could ride Indiana Jones ALL DAY. It should absolutely be in WDW, whether in Adventureland or DHS or anywhere else they could find for it. I've only seen one of the movies so it isn't bc I love the franchise so much or anything. It's just so fun!

As for the Magic Carpets in MK. I agree they don't look nice in the space they are in, but I like them and like that they have an Aladdin ride available. There used to be a little theater in DL's Adventureland (well, technically it is still there but it is used differently). They used to have a lunch show with middle eastern food and an abbreviated Aladdin show. My mother and I used to like to go to this show together. They now have a full-scale production of Aladdin at DCA in a large theater with no lunch so the Adventureland show is long gone and the space is used for a meet and greet. The lunch show might be something nice they could put in MK Adventureland since they don't do the full theater show anywhere at WDW.

I'm torn on this one because I love Adventureland just the way it is. I guess another ride would be nice, but I like how quiet it can be over there at night. On our last trip, we grabbed a dole whip and sat out in front of the Tiki Room to watch the fireworks. It was so nice. One time we ended up on Aladdin during the fireworks, which was pretty cool too. I also love hearing the music when you come over the bridge into Adventureland....

I'd keep the carpets because I believe they fit the theme of the land even if the location is a bit wonky. And I actually enjoy the Tiki Room and the Treehouse as they are. I'm under 30 and remember watching the old shows on Vault Disney like Swiss Family Robinson, Zorro, Spin & Marty, Swamp Fox and the like, so if they were to bring back some of the old things to mix with the new then I would be more than happy!

The one part I would probably change is the Jungle Cruise. Getting a good guide has been so hit or miss for me. Why not throw in some Tarzan or Jungle Book references while on there? (Again, leave the tree alone. It was interesting at Disneyland but I'm not sure if I liked it better or not.) A PP mentioning Tom Sawyer Island also got me thinking -- the Pirates may be in Adventureland but what about turning TSI into a mini Neverland? It may not fit as well being in the middle of Frontierland/Liberty Square (which Mark Twain novels do), but I kind of like the idea of the tunnels and such being connected to Hangman's tree. There could be a little Indian encampment made where Fort Sam Clemmens is. Add a few fairy lights at night to represent Pixie Hollow if they fancy.

Got off topic there. Update the Jungle Cruise. That's what I'd do.

We never spend much time in Adventureland. My kids like POTC, Aladdin (mainly for the spitting camel), and Jungle Cruise. They have no interest in anything else. We also feel so crowded in that area, it makes us want to leave quickly.

aladain's carpets are a waste of a good movie - too similar to dumbo and astro orbiter in the same park.

would love to see an ride based on the story of aladin that somehow combined the concepts of peter pan (flying over the story) and the 7 dwarfs mine ride (mild/tame thrill ride). would be really cool if it could someone go from flying over the story (like peter pan), to flying through the story (like winnie the pooh or the old snow white ride)

I totally agree with this!!! And maybe a few more benches to relax and enjoy one of my favorite moments of my Disney day?

I LOVE this idea! You are absolutely right that a Jungle Book ride would be a PERFECT fit here. And I really like the idea of the kiddie coaster... possibly even combined with a dark ride?

I think retheming the Jungle Cruise to the Jungle Book would be an interesting idea... I'm sad that the Jungle Book doesn't have an attraction (but neither does Hercules :()

I L-O-V-E the Neverland idea! How amazing would that be?! I've never been to TSI, but I would totally go if it was transformed into Neverland.

:cheer2: Go you! Haha :cheer2:
