Adventure Is Out There! 1st time Solo PTR! ~ Dusting off these PTR cobwebs 8/8!

Hi everyone! Hope your Mondays went well.

For some strange reason, I was very chipper today. That is a RARE and EXOTIC thing for a Monday.
I don't know what's got me in such a good mood. Maybe it's because I'll have this trip paid off in 2 weeks! :cool2:

Alrighty then, now I'm trying to decide on what park to visit on arrival day.

So far here's my itinerary:

Sept 6th, Thursday

  • Arrive at MCO at 7:30AM
  • Find ME bus and check into Pop Century
  • ????(I have no clue what park to visit on this day)

Sept 7th, Friday ~ Epcot 9am - 12am (EMH)

  • Leave POP at 8am
  • Eat my snack credit for breakfast (maybe?) on the bus
  • Le Cellier ADR at 1:30pm (Sadly dinner is now a Signature dining experience, costing 2 TS credits) but the lunch sounds ahhhmayzing!
  • use my CS for dinner
Sept 8th, Saturday ~ Animal Kingdom 9am - 5pm (No EMH)
- Leave POP at 8am
- Eat breakfast on the way
- Yak & Yeti 1:30pm ADR
- CS for dinner

Sept 9th, Sunday ~ Magic Kingdom 9am - 12am (EMH)
- Leave Pop at 8am
- Pecos Bill late lunch at 3pm
- Ohana ADR at 9:30pm

Sept 10th, Monday - Disney's Hollywood Studios 9am - 12am (EMH)
- Leave Pop at 8am
- Sci-Fi Drive In Theater ADR 1:15pm
- lunch (where?)

Sept 11th, Tuesday ~ No park, Departure Day :sad1:

Call front desk at 8am & ask about late check-out

If Yes: GO BACK TO SLEEP :cloud9:

Get up at 9:30am, get ready and grab breakfast from Everything Pop
Maybe go swimming or just walk around and check out AoA
Have everything packed and down to the front desk by 12:30pm
Check Out
Catch bus to DTD
Grab lunch
Last minute souvenir shopping
Grab bus back to Pop at 2:45/3pm.
Wait for ME bus :(
Go Home

If No: Get up
2qa4h7t.jpg

get dressed, pack last minute things
Leave luggage with front desk
Grab breakfast from Everything Pop
Take luggage down to front desk by 10:30am
Check Out
Same plan as with late check-out

I'm estimating Magical express will be at Pop around 4:15 since my flight is at 7:20pm. Am I giving myself enough time to get from DTD to Pop if I leave DTD at 2:45/3pm. I think it's a reasonable gap considering it's not too far but just in case of crowds or other unforeseen problems.

This basic schedule is pretty much set in stone, not a lot of variables to deal with on this level.

Now when I start reading my WDW planning books I'm sure I'll have 39258457 different touring plans. :faint:
Now that's where my plans could change in a snap. I'll update again soon with some (temporary, no doubt) plans.

I HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!!!! :beach:

I love you and I love that you're using GIFs. It makes everything x10000 more amazing than it is.

You don't know how excited I am for you.

You must text me and send me pics while you're there.

Okay, continue....

Oh I guess I should make myself a ticker huh?

Missy, you need to start on your PTR. Our trips aren't that far apart!

And :cool1: for another GIF lover
Can you believe in a little over two months, we'll be at Disney World

Hey, I just found your PTR and had to come and check it out. I went on a last minute trip by myself in March and had a wonderful time. One of the best things is that several of the thrill rides have single rider lines that are shorter and you don't have to come back later with a FP.:goodvibes

How exciting that your trip is getting real close. With in a couple of weeks your should be recieving Mickey Mail.:thumbsup2 Good thing, since I need to live vicariously through everyone whos trips are coming up. Mine is still 11 months away.:sad1:

I'm so glad there are more single rider lines in WDW than at DLR.
I'm super excited for my Mickey mail! I love it because it makes it so much more real.
I don't know what I'll do with myself on the day I leave since my flight is super late at night.

Thanks for reading!
11 months away

I copied you and popped over here to read your PTR.

Your plans sound awesome and I love your ADR choices! I think I would love a solo trip...

Awesome, another reader!

Glad you came over!

Since it's only my second trip I don't have much first-hand knowledge of what's good and what's just eh, okay. Glad to see I picked some winners!

Not much going on in the trip planning department today.
It's my day off and I sad around reading trip reports most of the day.

I have decided that I'm going to walk 200 miles before my vacation.
I'm adding a ticker to my signature so you can see my progress :thumbsup2

Other than that I am putting up my Baggallini Messenger bag up for sale. It doesn't fit me right, might be my broad shoulders. I used for a few days in February but mostly it's been in my closet. If anyone is interested, please PM me.

I was tempted to upgrade my SDP to the DxDP but the price difference is TOO MUCH!

Unless I find a few extra hundreds, it's out of the question.

But, hey, you never know! ;)

Until next time!

Hello!! I followed you over from Joyce's PTR (or TR?!?!) I think I also recognize your name from the Disneyland DISDiva's? Unfortunately I have not been able to join the DIVA trips even though I want to so very much!

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. You have some great ADR's picked from reviews I have read!

Congrats on getting some decent Airfare! It's been extremely tricky this summer in scoring any for a reasonable rate!

I think as a solo traveler the regular DDP is a good choice. The DxDP is a lot of food and a lot of sit down meals to enjoy by yourself and I know from my solo time in DL that I prefer a little less solo time at meals and more actually touring the parks!

great PTR so far...your plans look good to me. :thumbsup2 For your first day I think you should go to your favorite park or if you don't have the extra ticket day maybe spend the day enjoying the different resorts. I am personally a big fan of AK and DHS so that would be my choice.

Can't wait to hear all about your trip as it comes together.

I think I recognize your username, too. I have been to the Girls' Only trip every year so you did see me there.
I think I my brain was being too adventurous with thinking about the DxDP. It sounds great but woah boy, that's a lot of food

I have a five day ticket but I can't, for the life of me, decide which park to visit twice. What stinks is that my extra day is the day I fly in so I haven't really had a chance to experience and think about which park I want to do again. So tough!

I could always call and cancel the extra day. I could spend my first day in DTD, Disney Quest, go swimming, etc.

Really gotta think some more on this.

We will be in the same park that day!!!!!

Ps I Love your GIFs too!!

:thumbsup2
Maybe we will run into each other!

Hello!! Loving your PTR, so fun! I can't even go to a movie by myself, let alone going on a vacation. I'm very envious of your ability to do it, and can't wait to read about your trip. I love having alone time, so taking a Disney Vaction alone sounds a little enticing. :rolleyes1 Getting away from my crazy kids for a couple days sounds like heaven actually. :cloud9:

Yeah dude, the DxDP looks like a heck of a lot of food. We were thinking about it, but I don't think we can handle that much food.

And you guys are self-proclaimed eaters! I wasn't sure when I first met you but you can hang with the big kids ;)

They'd have to roll me out of the parks by the end of the night :lmao:

Thanks for reading along!
I used to be the same way but when I moved out for school, I became more independent. I got tired of waiting for my friends or family to want to do something or see a movie so I'd go by myself.

I better get started on these itineraries because I know I'll be changing them about a hundred times each.

DAY 1 - ARRIVAL

7:30AM - Arrive at MCO

8:30/8:45 - Est. arrival at Pop Century

Check in to Pop Century and leave luggage at bell services

Now what?

I really have no clue what to do.
Most of you will say "GO TO A PARK!" and I agree because I am paying for a 5-day ticket.

The question is: WHICH park?!

I've only been to WDW once and it's been 6 years. So much has changed and my memories are a bit fuzzy.

I didn't add the park-hopping option because I'm trying to do this trip on the cheap, as I don't have that much money to play with at this time.

The room won't be ready that early so I will have a few hours before I can settle in and unpack.

My options are:

A) Go to DTD, grab a bite to eat and see which park tickles my fancy while I window shop. I'll probably avoid Magic Kingdom because they have morning EMH that day.

wiqc7b.jpg

No thanks, I'll just stay away from that monstrosity.

If you can't be there at rope drop on day with morning EMH, I think you should avoid it. That's what I've come to learn from other people's experiences.

I've decided that I'm going against the rule of "no parks with morning EE" and I'm heading to Magic Kingdom. I mean, who was I kidding? Of course I have to see the castle first! I plan on taking this day very easy and listening to my body. If it wants to go back for a swim and a nap in the afternoon, then by golly! that's what I'll do ::yes:: (added 7/12).

I'll probably focus on playing the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom day

I have a TS booked at the Plaza Restaurant that night but that was before I knew it was a morning EMH day. Also, I don't know if I want to visit MK twice during my stay. The castle is gorgeous, no question about that, but I have a Disneyland AP and most of the rides are the same. I really think I'd be fine with just one day.

B) Just eeny meeny miney moe it and go to a park.

So, I canceled my ADR at the Plaza Inn because I've eaten practically the same food over here at DLR.

BUT I did secure a 9:30pm ADR for Ohana!

sc6mbq.jpg

I was trying to figure what which day would be better, Thursday or Sunday.
On Sunday, Wishes is at 9pm and my ADR at 9:30pm, so I would miss out on it. On Thursday, Wishes is at 10pm and with a 9:30pm ADR I can request fireworks seating when I check-in. I know it's not guaranteed but I have a better chance of seeing them.

Hey everyone, I'm here with a real life update but still Disney related.

Yesterday I went to Disneyland in the afternoon, pretty much walked on a bunch of rides and walked around.

Today I woke up early and was at California Adventure's gates by 7:15am, with about 500 other people! :scared:

As soon as they let us into Buena Vista Street, around 7:30am, they immediately started a line for Radiator Springs Racers fast pass. I jumped in fairly early so when the park officially opened at 8am, they walked us down to the fast pass machine where I got my fast pass around 8:15am for the time slot of 11am - 12pm. I was happy and went on my merry way discovering Carsland.

I got so emotional! I don't even know particularly why. They just did such a good job and it feels like you really are IN Radiator Springs. I was giddy!

I've set a goal for myself: complete 200 miles (walking and/or jogging) by Labor Day (Sept. 3rd).

This is my way of getting in shape for my trip (I leave Sept. 5th).
So I came to DLR to with the notion of walking. A LOT. Thanks to this website: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ I can calculate how many miles I walk by tracing my walking route.

Yesterday, only at Disneyland, I completed 1.75 miles.
Today, between California Adventure and Disneyland (lots of backtracking included), I walked 3.05 miles.
I have a ticker in my signature to help me keep track and stay accountable.
:thumbsup2

I only work Monday and Friday this week because of the holiday (normally have TTH off).

I only have $150 left to pay off my trip  and that should be done by the 18th hopefully.

Hope you all have a great week and Happy 4th of July if I don't get a chance to update by then. :grouphug:

I so wish I was going to DL soon to see the new DCA! Unfortunately I'm not sure when I will be going again.

The things I like about MK over DL is... Carousel of Progress (!!!!), Monster's Inc Laugh Floor thing, Country Bears, and the People Mover.. But DL doesn't have those things, so yeah.
