DD and DS can't have chocolate so DD received a Polly Pocket Advent calendar today.
Last year DS received a lego Advent calendar bought at Borders.
I remember the chocolate ones from my childhood and they were such a treat and help in the counting to Christmas.

DH was so excited to realize it was December 1...he quickly got up and ran to get his LEGO advent calendar so he could see what his first little "kit" would be...it was a fireman! :firefight

This is our newest "tradition"!!! :rotfl:

We are advent calendar fanatics...chocolate, lego, clik-its, cloth ones and in past years Baby Born and Playmobil. We also have an elf box...the elves bring tiny gifts every day.

DD has her advent calendar in the frig and forgot about it. She went off to school without opening it. I will remind her about it if she doesn't remember.

We have Lego (DH), cross stitch (me...not to do, but done...you add an ornament to the tree everyday).
DS has Legos....they love it at work
DD has Playmobile, chocolate and a card type one from Epcot (Germany)

We have a Disney Christmas Tree advent calendar. :) I got it on sale after Christmas at TDS site a few years ago. I was even able to personalize it with our last name and I think I paid maybe $15 for it. :)

We have a felt Christmas tree one with little ornaments, which DD6 will do each day. It used to be a tradition that the kids took turns putting up an ornament, and then we sang a song...but today DS14 left for school before DD6 was even awake, and she lost interest before we finished the song! I guess traditions have to change as the kids get older...

They each have their own chocolate calendars which I got on clearance for less than $3 apiece.

Where do you guys find these cool advent calendars??? I had to search high and low just for cheap chocolate ones. The search is on every November and I always have a terrible time. I would only be interested in the "gift" type...either filled with chocolate, legos, or somethign else....somebody hook me up!

By the way, we already have this years cheap chocolate ones but I'd love to know where and how to find something more interesting next year!
