What are the advantages of staying LVC at the Poly? I currently have 2 LV rooms booked May 24 to June 1,2006. I have read the post about the new rooms at the Poly and also trip reports showing the views of the castle from the Hawaii building and am starting to think I really want to stay concierge laggon view. They only thing stopping me is for the 2 rooms for 8 nights it is about $3,000 more so I want to find out about all the extras included with concierge so I can justify in my head spending more money.
I know there is a concierge lounge that serves snacks through out the day. There is also a preplanning service but what excatly do they do? Are they able to get you a Wishes or Illuminations cruise? Do they make all or your ADR? Do they usually get all the ADRs you wanted? Or are you better off doing it all yourself? What are the other benifits of staying LVC?
I have 2 rooms booked because I am going with my best friend and his 2 boys who will be 8 and 11. I have booked 2 rooms because we need at least 3 beds but after reading about the new futon daybed at the Poly I am wondering if we could squish into one room with out killing each other by the end of our stay? When we stayed at WL last October we definitely needed 2 rooms. I know the rooms at the Poly are bigger but how much bigger? If I knew we would be comfortable in one room I would definetely book LVC.
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance for the answers. :sunny:

Regarding the planning, we stayed at AKL concierge starting Dec. 26 for 7 nights 2 years ago. They sent us a form ahead of time to fill out, and they made all our dining, child care, and other plans. They CAN get you dining that maybe you couldn't get yourself - they have a bit of pull there. We wanted to do an illuminations cruise on New Years Eve, and they booked it for us. I wouldn't have been able to snag that, plus they put us on Breathless! It was unforgettable. If you want that sort of service, go for it. But if there are only 2 adults and 2 children, I can't see the need for 2 rooms, they sound large. If bedding is an issue, you can always bring an aerobed for one of the kids (they're only about $100, you can inflate it in 60 seconds and deflate it just as fast in the morning). Plus, any time of the day that you want something to drink, if it's not out, they'll get it for you (at least they did at AKL, beer included). And you can bring stuff back to the room, which is nice in the morning while getting ready. But also, I think the extra cost for lagoon view, in my opinon, may not be worth it for having older children along. Just my opinion though, some people love that view of the castle, I just prefer some greenery and peace and quiet also. Have fun!

check out tikiman's page about the Polynesian hotel. His site is fantastic and has tons of pics and info about all the buildings.

It sounds like one room would be big enough if there are only 4 of you. The rooms are designed for 5. They are large. To get 2 rooms seems very unneccessary.

The LVG is GREAT. You will be there at a hot time of the year. The pools are only steps away. Cold drinks are always available for the taking. The kids will have access to a continental breakfast, afternoon snacks (sweets and fresh fruit), and in the evening there are fresh vegetables, cheeses, and one or two hot dishes. These offerings are meant to be appitizers, but for many kids this will surfice. The heat in Florida often suppresses a big appitite. Of course the evening would not be complete without the desserts they put out at approx 8pm.

I only wish the lounge had been in existance (maybe it was but I was too young/poor to afford it!) when my kids were young.

No need to run out in the rain, sweltering heat etc. to Capt. Cooks for a cold drink, bagel, cup of coffee. All your needs are met.

I did use the pre-planner to make our ADR's but they could not secure CRT for breakfast or lunch. It was no biggie as it was only hubby and me. When I bring my grand kids I will NEED to get a CRT ADR for my grand-daughter.

I think staying LVC is a great experience, at least once in your lifetime, if your pocketbook permits. :wave2:

We just absolutely love the concierge at the Poly. The above posters are right on the money. We have the concierge services make all of our ADRs. This year we asked for 10 days worth of ADR every night for dinner, Spa reservations, a fishing excursion, and an Illuminations cruise. They emailed me all of the confirmations for all of the items above. I can't say that we would have gotten all of the ADRs some are hard to get. The services are wonderful. If you get there are need to make changes they can do that for you. The lounge and convience of the snacks and drinks are great --- even better when you have kids involved. The proximity to the pool is awesome. No need to trapes through the resort in our swimsuits just step out the door. We have been going to WDW for 9 years now -- every year in the fall. We have stayed in concierge the last 6 years. Be careful --- it is very hard to go back once you've stayed concierge. We tried one year and ended up asking at the desk to be put in concierge. My husband justifies the cost by the location, the availability of the snacks and drinks, the breakfast items, and the service. We have stayed at the YC, poly, and GF. My husband and I love the poly...the kids prefer the YC strictly because of the pool. You have made a good choice but I have to agree that I would go with only 1 room. The rooms are quite large. We have 5 and have plenty of room. Good luck and have fun.........
