invaderzim, I apologize, I was wrong, we did go with Disney for the insurance after all. I pulled all the paperwork out, and we did look at coverage from Travel Guard, but they wanted $125 per person ($500 for 4 of us), and DCL coverage was $316 for 4.
The mind is the first thing to go I guess.

Glad I read this thread ... I booked thru DCL so I checked my paperwork ... $2,100 for six of us to fly from Wash. DC to MCO ... I checked with US Airways ... we can fly for $1,200.
So I'll be calling DCL and taking the air off my ressie ... along with the ground transportation ... decided that it was more convenient to rent a minivan.
I booked our August '04 ressie back in Nov. '02 ... learned a lot of "tricks" since then!
Book your own air and go down the day before. I don't think you can book air through DCL and get to go down the day before. I think they do same day only, I could be wrong on this though. you get such better prices doing it yourself. Checkout JetBlue in September and Southwest out of Providence or Manchester. Great prices and direct flights. Good luck.
We've had our TA book our flight separately both times and we've come out ahead. Since we're doing the land/sea, getting there a little late doesn't hurt as bad and the cost savings makes it worth it

Count me in as another cruiser who will never ever book air with Disney again.
The flight to Orlando using AA, prior to the cruise was fine, it was the return trip that was an absolute nightmare. Disney gave us a connecting flight in Philly that was scheduled to depart 30 mins after we were to arrive in Philly! When I first noticed the short amount of time allowed to make the connecting flight, I figured Disney knew what they were doing.
Everyone on our first plane that needed that connection, missed the flight. We were stranded in the airport until 10 pm. I especially felt sorry for the couple with 4 children all under the age of 5. This couple said they raced to the gate with their strollers, to catch the plane, made it by the departure time, but the plane had already taken off. We did not get home until 1 am and were not even sure if we would be on that flight home. It was a nightmare. The employees at US Air in Philly were some of the rudest and incompetant I have ever dealt with. I can't even get into all of what went on there. It will be direct flights for us from now on and I will book them myself.
