ADVANTAGE - I'm going for it...

Ouch, this just took an ugly turn.

A friend just recently came back from Disney and used Advantage. She told me NEVER AGAIN..no matter how cheap it was. It took her over 2 hrs to get a car. She said there was a line 20 people deep with one person working the counter. They only had economy cars available after being told for 30-40 mins they had NO cars available at all. They reserved a larger car...and everyone on line around them had the same issue. It was taking so long to check people out since people argued they should not have to pay the midsize or full size rates for economy cars, etc. They ended up with a glorified hatchback after 2 hours.

I really hope this isn't typical of Advantage. I was already hesitant about using them, and that sounds like a nightmare.

Paying an extra $40 bucks for Enterprise rather then using Advantage isn't looking so bad now. 10 day stay $212 vs $172 9/9 - 9/19

Advantage was the lowest and a Midsize car vs. a Compact from Enterprise

We booked for Oct 1 thru 10/09 was cheapest by far.....$265 CDN all in. I imagine that they are just like trip advisor some love em some hate em. Will wait and see!

I was seriously considering joining everyone for my OCt trip, but I Googled a search for Advantage reviews and found a lot of recent ones that were very negative.

I'm all for saving money, but I'm not willing to risk it. I hope it works out for everyone.

Since Advantage was already the bottom of the barrel so to speak, we tried Priceline and got Alamo for about $20 more. That seemed definitely worth the difference since they are located in the terminal. Just a thought.

Is there anyone that has a good report on advantage? I know that when I rent cars, if the car and service is ok, then I just go on my way, but if it is bad, then I will complain/write a review... so I am wondering if we are just hearing from the people that had bad service/cars.. are there good ones out there?

We have advantage reserved for our up coming trip.. but after reading this, I'm starting to worry... and I didn't even know that the location wasn't at the airport! And we have friends that are going the same week, and I had them book with advantage too! I will feel really bad if they have a bad time when I told them to book with advantage...

I'm also booked with Advantage or this next week. We've never used them before, but their price was so good that we decided to try it. I have talked to them twice on the phone and was very pleased with both conversations, so I'm hoping the rental procedure is as pleasant.

I ended up getting the same price with Alamo on a last minute deal so I canceled the Advantage reservation. I'm actually quite happy because I really like the convenience of the kiosk and I was more than a bit worried about using Advantage. I really hope it works out for those of you who stuck with Advantage though.

Someone out there must have tried Advantage by now. I have a reservation with them coming up in a few days (at a great price), so any pro's or con's would be appreciated. I've got a backup reservation with Alamo just in case.
