Does anyone out there know of a wine made in North Carolina that is popular and can be purchased all over the country?

My DH's cousin and her DH moved to NC a couple years ago to start their life together there, and just bought their first house. They are wine drinkers, and I thought it would be a cute idea to get them a 2009 bottle of a NC wine as a housewarming gift.

Thanks in advance!

Biltmore House offers their wine now in retail stores but I've never had to search for it out of NC. I do know that their winery did offer to ship, so if you aren't able to find a NC wine you can purchase in your location, you could phone Biltmore and order.

I was just going to suggest them, too! :goodvibes I looked on their website, and they don't offer their wine in stores in Michigan, BUT you could have it shipped there.

The shipping was kind of steep though, $22.95 for 1-3 bottles.

But OUCH! :headache:

I'll discuss with DH!

We live near two vineyards. Raylen and Childress (owned by former NASCAR driver Richard Childress). I don't know if the Raylen is available country wide, but I'm pretty sure the Childress is.

:thumbsup2 I will look into this, thanks!

I love Duplin wines. Their Christmas Eve is my absolute favorite. Here is the web site: http://www.duplinwinery.com/
Doesn't look like it's available in every state, but they do have an online store.
Hope this helps. :earsgirl:
