We have been to Disney World and know that without advanced reservations you are not going to get in to most restaurants. However, what about the restaurants at Universal Studios? Margaritaville? Hard Rock Cafe?

You can book online at the Hard Rock up to a month in advance - its a priority seating like Disney.

We have booked over the phone in the past for Margarittaville - dont know if they accept online ressies now though - I would check their website.

Some of the Universal and City Walk restaurants are listed on opentable.com and you can make reservations there also.

Yes, most of the sit down restaurants at the resort are on opentable.com

Do you think the priority seating at Hard Rock will be essential for next week? Or should we be able to get in within a decent time as a walk up for dinner? Not sure how busy it will be the week before Memorial Day Weekend.

We have never made any reservations at Universal. But then again if something was real busy we just went somewhere else.:thumbsup2

Also it helps to eat just off peak eating hours.;)

Hard Rock is a HUGE resteraunt! I don't think you'll have a problem. The longest I ever waited for a table was 30 minutes and that was near the holidays

Last year we went to Hard Rock Cafe without a reservation and the only drawback was we were seated in a room away from the more interesting decor. It probably wouldn't hurt to make a ressie and ask for the main dining room. IMO it would be worth it.

If you will have your smartphone with you, download the Open Table app before your trip. Twice we made reservations in the morning, one time for lunch (Mythos) and one for dinner (Margaritaville, right after IOA closed). Both times we were seated in 3 to 4 minutes of showing up. My kids said they got a lot of dirty looks from the people in line at Margaritaville when I went in and then waved for them to skip the line and come right on in.
