Advanced Check-In at Poly?

You learn new things everyday. I was completely unaware of Advance Check-In at the Poly.

How does this work? Is there a website or something. I read throught Poly FAQ and didn't find anything specific.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

I must have posted right after you did. I don't know for sure, but I think you just call the main disney reservation number, tell them you want to pre-checkin at the Poly, and they will either do it for you, or transfer you to someone who will. You can pre-check in 1 week in advance of arival. From what I understand, you still have to go to an express desk to get your packet.

As far as I know it was only for the end of 2006 that they were testing this. I don't know if they are currently offering this service. Basically, you just give them all the information (name, address, phone, cc info, etc) prior to arriving. It just speeds up the check in process. They do NOT tell you which room/building you are in until you check in.

Does anyone know if this has been extended??

I used it at the end of last year. I don't know if it has been extended past the end of 2006, though.

I was emailed instructions directly from Disney 10 days in advance of my check-in. If they have your email address, but you haven't received an email within 10 days of check-in with advance check-in instructions, then I assume they haven't extended it.

Here's the email with phone number. You could call the number and see if they are still doing it:

Your Disney vacation time is precious. So for a limited time, from now until December 31, 2006, we’re introducing a NEW way to check-in before you arrive, and it’s just for Disney’s Polynesian Resort Guests!

Simply call us at 407-828-7120 from 1–10 days before your arrival (same-day advance check-in is not available). You can reach us at this number every day, 6 a.m. to midnight.

Before you call, please have the following information ready in order to streamline your registration:

1. Your estimated arrival time
2. Your payment method
3. The names of each person in your party

On your scheduled arrival date, your check-in information will already be confirmed and your check-in packet will be waiting for you at a designated advance check-in area.

If you arrive prior to 3 p.m., please stop by the registration desk and inquire whether your room is available. If your room is not quite ready, you can get started exploring the Resort or visiting a Disney fun spot until your room is prepared.
