Advance Purchase Discount on AP?

No. There is only one price for AP's. They will cost you the same whether you buy them from TDS, by phone, online or at the gate at WDW.

The Disney Club discount is still available until 12/31/03. The price is the same in advance or at the gate.

Does anyone know if the Disney Club discount on APs is available at the Disney Store? I know that they only discount the hopper+ passes now.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Elin,

Yes, the Disney Club discount on APs is available at the Disney Store. I ordered my passes at my local Disney Store a few days ago and the CM asked me if I'm a member of the Disney Club because they have a different UPC/price for Disney Club members.

Thanks for the quick reply, DolphinGirl!

As Dolphin_Girl008 said, yes, the DC discounts are available at the Disney Store. But be prepared for the possibility of uninformed CMs. I purchased my first APs last week, and unfortunately dealt with 2 CMs who weren't very familiar with the process.

The first CM told me that they didn't even carry APs--just hopper passes. I persisted and she called-over another CM. The second CM pulled open a drawer that must have had 200 un-activated AP vouchers, which resolved that first issue.

Then, as they began to ring-up the transaction, I mentioned the DC discount. The second CM (who found the passes) proceeded to tell me that they did away with the DC discount on APs a few months ago. I told her that I called the Disney Club earlier in the day and was assured that there is still a discount. After paging through the book with the pass UPCs a couple of times, she did finally find what was needed to apply the DC discount.

So, everything worked out in the end. Just took a little more effort than I expected. Hope I don't have any more problems when the vouchers are redeemed.

If you're going to WDW before the end of the year, you might be better off just getting the APs at the park. You CAN get the DC discount on APs purchased at the park. Since the Disney Store will only give you vouchers which need to be activated at the park, it will probably take you just as much time to buy the AP on-site.

We just bought our AP last night at the Disney Store, and the CM did ask us if we had our DC...we did, but it had expired in APRIL and at that time, we didn't think we needed to renew! :(

The AP would have been $377 w/ DC but we ended up having to pay the reg. price of $392 for the regular AP:rolleyes:

I WISH WE WOULD HAVE RENEW!:guilty:

But either way, we got it done...:sunny:

ENJOY!

Actually it's too bad you didn't realize this before you went to the DS. People have been reporting all summer that even though the Disney Club will shortly be gone, they have been able to renew an existing membership retroactive to the date of expiration. So, if you expired on 4/30, you could have paid about $20 (8/12 of the normal $30 fee) to renew through the end of the year.

That might not have saved you much overall on the APs, but you could still get the other DC discounts while on your trip.

I know, I should have renewed!

But hopefully, w/ the AP, I'll still get some discounts and plus...it'll give us incentive to go back! hee hee:teeth: :teeth:
