This is my *tiny* irk for the day.

Im not all that mad about it but I just think it would have been nice...

Today I am sitting here in my jammies ( Ive showered but havent been feeling well lately so I just got back in my jammies) when I see dh pull up and then another van pulls in behind him. I went to greet them ( forgetting I was in my jammies and ummm no bra :o ) and I am introduced to a co-worker of his. Theyve been working together for almost 6 years and are friends ( he lives in another city and comes to town once every other week) Ive never met this guy before.

So great first impression there  The house is not clean either, I hadnt started working on it yet. Oh well. No big deal I guess, he is really nice and everything but

Dont you think if youre going to bring someone home you should call first and at least give a few minutes notice?

Had to LOL DH used to do this often.
But to be honest I prefer NO NOTICE then I dont have to rush round like an idiot tidying up, scanning the house for the worse bits and shutting doors quick. At least with no notice you had an excuse.

I tend to go with the old adage -- "what you see is what you get" -- when you have no notice (and it WOULD have been nice to get one), you just have to take what you get in whatever condition it is...

Did you get dressed while he was still there?

yep I ran into the bedroom and threw on some clothes lol.

DH was nice enough to show him around the yard before he showed him the house.

:)

Chris did this once....just once. The house was a mess and I was bed-ridden with cramps. I was furious.

Since then he makes sure I get plenty of notice.

Dh would rec a SEVERE beating. Our house is always a mess since i have 2 little ones 3 and 1 pulling out stuff all day long. Also I usually dont get dressed unless Im leaving the house.
Dh know all this so Im sure he would call. Just in case I'll ask him when he gets home what is the proper procedure, lol ;)

Oh yeah! Being the psychotic person I am, DH wouldnt even think about that.

Actually about a month ago we had a house appraiser come over to check out the house (refinancing). We had an appointment at 12:00. I started cleaning, did some laundry, then went out for a walk. I knew I would be home by about 10:00, with plenty of time to finish up. When we turned into our street, there was a car infront of the house...the guy was 2 hours early!!! I almost had a nervous breakdown! The house was messy, there was laundry laying around in a basket...I thought I would die!

WOW !

Did you say something after the Jammies and no bra line

Steve

PS: just kidding don't start on me.

LOL Steve! ;)

****kicking Steve in the rear****

WAKE UP!!! ;)

Happens all the time here! DH is in the AF, and friends from other bases will periodically show up at the base on the way somewhere else, or even here for a couple of days. Usually he calls, so I have some notice, but I have done a dinner party for 6 on 2 hours notice before. Makes for a fun night! I generally chuck the mess into the master bedroom then close the door!

DH hasn't ever done this to me, but my mil has. A close family friend was in town and mil just stopped by with her. Fortunately, I 've known this woman for 15 years, but still... The house was a disaster and I stood there apologizing for the house being a mess. MIL then says "well, I probably should have called"! YEA!! Oh well, everyone who knows me knows my house is cluttery anyway, but I still like at least 10 minutes to tidy up.

DH has been known to do this, and yes, it drives me nuts. It's especially wonderful when it's someone that I've never met before, and I haven't showered yet, have on no makeup and look about 20 years older than I already am. These people must really wonder what DH sees in me.;)

My hubby2b is guilty as well, even though he knows I like at least 2 hours notice so I can make sure I'm showered and the place is somewhat presentable.

Same here, they know I live with slobs but, they know I need more than 10 minutes, too!! ;)

And, dh HAS done this to me a couple times with just "guys stopping by after work"!! WELL, when HE knew, he could've told me!

I'm scary enough but, unprepared I'm worse!!

That would irk me as well. But I'm pretty used to it anymore. Like someone said, what they see is what they get.
