We are now planning a WDW vacation with our adult children--32 and 29--no grandchildren but with girl/boyfriends. I would like hints for an all adult vacation.:) Our first trip together was in 1988; this trip is our tenth trip together. What are your suggestions for an all adult vacation trip to WDW?:yay:

My dh and I took 4 trips to disney last year all adult only. My suggestion is try to plan the vacation during the food and wine festival as this is a great adult thing to do. The Party of the Senses is absolutely an amazing experience.

You also might consider some of the backstage tours, they have some really good ones. Behinds the Seeds was really cool and only $12 pp. DH and I really like DiveQuest too if you have certified divers. If not, they offer a snorkel tour of the Living Seas as well.

And the best part about doing Disney Adult style, is the food and drink! DH loves to "drink around the world" at Epcot. And the restaurants are amazing. Might want to consider the dining plan too, you can get some really good meals out of it!

Just my personal opinion.

We also enjoy drinks "around the world" too and are planning a huge adult celebration in 2011 for my DB 21st Bday :rotfl:! I believe it will take us four days to make it safely around the world though.

I agree that a tour would be a nice adult thing to do, but depending on the type of adult you are, you might like my suggestion for buying the Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunt Book and doing something along those lines. My DH and I are sort of childish adults so we really have fun searching all over WDW for Hidden Mickeys. The book is pretty cool too and works as a map of sorts. Look it up and see if it's something you might want to try too. The year we went with the whole family, my mom, dad, stepdad, brother, everyone got involved in searching then!

We did a great trip with my adult son and his GF this past year. It was her first time so we were able to combine the excitement of seeing WDW with the laid back adult trip. We got up early and did rope drops, rode rides and ran around like kids until lunch, then went back to the room and napped, swam, whatever until dinner time. Then we had wonderful adult dinners, relaxed and sat for an hour or two with cocktails or a bottle of wine and a terrific meal. Then we did the stroll and watched fireworks or nighttime entertainment.
It was nice having a two bdrm at OKW because we had plenty of space to gather as a family and then head in two directions and have some privacy. Although I am looking forward to grandkids someday, I am really enjoying Disney as an adult and hope to have many more 'adult only' trips in my future. It's amazing that a place so busy can feel so quiet and relaxing when you just slow down and take it all in.

BTW-everyone in our party agreed that Flying Fish was the best meal of the trip. Terrific and interesting seafood, good wines, and a non-rushed feel. Also exceptional waitstaff. And walking the boardwalk in the evening was great fun.

I like to give everyone a choice of what they would like to do while in WDW. My daughter (22) and daughter in law (25) want to go to Cirque one night, and I made reservations for my son(26) and his wife to have dinner at California Grille one night.
I let them pick tours that they are interested in and sit down meals, we always eat at Ohana when were in WDW.
We try to get up together and start the day off together, and then take breaks in the afternoon, pool, water parks, rest etc and usually meet back up for dinner.
This trip we will have my grand daughter who will be 14 months so that will change some of our routines but I'm letting the "kids" have some fun while I baby sit. It's been 5 years since my son and his wife have been to WDW so I want them to have some alone time and enjoy some of the adult stuff in WDW. I go by myself so often I won't mind babysitting this trip.

A Segway tour around Epcot may be fun :)

Also Jellyrolls for an evening and maybe the ESPN club to catch a game.

I would also suggest the Saratoga Spa for both men and women or maybe a game of golf for the men while the women enjoy the spa?

If you do drink then if one person has an AP get the Tables in Wonderland card :teeth:

A meal at the Yachtsman Steakhouse or even Victoria and Alberts may be nice.

We had always vacationed together, as you did, before significant others. Once we were no longer 4 but became 6 I tried to get everyone's input so wecould plan dinners, park days together. What we found was that the couples really wanted to experience the parks on their own. They also wound up in different places than we did throughout the day so they'd be running to meet up with us for ADR's. We had a great time, but the next time we did things differently. Each couple planned their own day and we told them where we were having our ADR's and asked if anyone wanted to join US. Twice during the stay, everyone met for dinner but mostly everyone was on their own. It worked out very well. It was hard on me, a compulsive planner, because I always planned for everyone. But it worked out much better and many days we actually found one couple or both would join us through the day. But because they wanted to, not because it was "planned" that way.

You'll have a great time and great memories!

We had a huge family reunion w/ children but we gave the adults a day/night alone as well, and above are some the things that were a big hit along with these,

An Illumination cruise with just snacks (provided) or stepped up a notch by ordering Strawberries and Champagne.

If you go in Summer it's very hot so do evening EMH at MK and stay up till 1am riding and literally have the park to yourselves in a cooler atmosphrere!

Have a leisurely breakfast at the Grand Floridian.

Dinner at Downtown Disney and then a La Nouba show.

If you have a car, go out to dinner (really out, of Disney to Orlando) Try Timpano's Italian Chop House, it's a piano/martini bar that serves excellent food.

Also, if you have fisherman in the family try a Disney Bass Fishing Excursion, early 7:30 while maybe the ladies are at the spa. My son and his uncle had a wonderful time, just bring sunscreen everything else is included. We stayed at OKW and they left straight from the Marina.

At OKW you can also rent paddle boats, pontoon boats etc.

Anyway, whatever you choose, sounds like fun!

Food and Wine festival! We go with my parents, we DO have children, however, one year, my parents sent me and DW down alone and we attended the F&WF and it was just awesome!! So many countries, so much food...

Also, nothing wrong with "being a kid" ... We still did all the attractions we would have with the kids :) ...

How about La Nouba? Or maybe take a tour ? Now that they're all grown up, it shouldn't ruin any magic for them?

We have found that if we plan 1 meal together--usually dinner, then wing it, it works well. That way, if people want to do the same activities, they can. Or, they can go their different ways and then meet back for dinner---discuss their day, enjoy the meal and company and then either stick together, or go their separate ways after the meal. Sometimes, we went together after dinner to DTD, or back to a park to watch fireworks. Sometimes we went back to villa and played cards. Sometimes we went our separate ways. Everyone always has fun and no one feels obligated to march around in a group all day. Have fun.! Elaine

We are usually "adults only". Many of the previous suggestions have been good ones. The one thing we also do is plan to do at least one behind the scenes tour each trip. We have done the Backstage Magic Pass twice, Keys to the Kingdom, Sunrise and Wanyama safaris, backstage at AK barns and vet hospital, both Segway tours (WL & Epcot), Gardens of World showcase, and Behind the Seeds too many times to count. We still have a few we haven't done yet, but we have repeated the ones we like best.

Eating at and then seeing the fireworks from the Cali Grill platform is one of the high points my DS always mentions. He thought the meal was the best he's had at Disney as well.

The gals did the Ft. Wilderness Segway tour and that was great!

Year before last we took our 2 adult DS's and their GF's and stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at BWV. We did the dining plan too and told the kids they could either eat with us or go on their own and they wanted to eat together. We went during F & W and spent 1 day at Blizzard Beach. We did plan our dinner meals and played the rest by ear. We all had a wonderful time, I'm sure you will too.

We have done a number of trips with our adult DS and/or our DD and son-in-law (sometimes one, sometimes the others, sometimes all of us on the same trip). DD and son-in-law are also DVC members, so they visit WDW frequently. Our primary planned group activities are meals. We typically have dinner together on alternate days, since we usually do a signature restaurant every other night these days (too much food and $$ otherwise, since we make three trips per year) and each go our own way the other nights. Small groups will form to visit a park, play miniature golf, do a behind the scenes tour, etc. As indicated by others, the Segway tour of Epcot is outstanding. We recommend it highly.
