Adults Splitting a Meal - Table Service

My upcoming trip (next Saturday, yippie!!) will be with my mom, DD (4) and I. We will be dining at Coral Reef and Prime Time. Can my mom and I order one adult meal and split it between the two of us or does each adult have to order a meal? We are not on the dining plan.

I've split meals at most of the restaurants and have never had a problem. Prime Time even split it into 2 plates for us.

Personally, I've found the perfect amount is to split an appetizer, entree and dessert.

We do it quite often-at table service & counter service. WDW has always been very good about giving you an extra plate, many places will even split the meal in the kitchen for you.
