Since there seem to be umpteen hundred threads asking if adults can order off the kids menus I thought maybe we could start a thread listing the TS restaurants that people have successfully ordered off the kids menu. And even the ones that said absolutely not.
As you all post your successes and failures, I will try and keep it all updated in post #1.

Successful
The Plaza Restaurant
Sci-Fi

Unsuccessful
Cinderella's Royal Table

Great idea! I successfully ordered a kids meal at SciFi.

I get them at the walk up places, plenty enough food for me. But never would try it myself at a sit downplace.

I got a kids burger at Scifi because i ordered the spinach dip for an app. I knew i couldnt finish both an adult entree/burger in addition to the app! Plus scifi is nice and dark, nobody really noticed i had a kids meal. And for all they know it could be for my son! Lol!!

Ive also ordered kids meal at QS places.

Great thread!!! I'm totally interested in viewing the results but wondering if it is the restaurants policy or the server's decision to allow someone to order off if the kids menu and be charged that price?

the mickey sandwich at the plaza restaurant. i couldn't resist.

I will at quick service, but not table service.

Although when I was at the San Angel Inn in Mexico in Epcot the waiter showed us the adult dessert items on the menu. Then he told us the most popular dessert item was off the children's menu-churros! I can never resist a churro, and they were delicious.:)

I wish they'd do adult meals in child's portions. A four oz steak would be perfect for me with a half cup of potatoes and a nice salad. Thank goodness I've got DS11 who'll still share with me. :teeth:

I just looked at some of the TS we've got planned and nothing looks too wonderful on the kid's menu.

I've done it at plenty of CS.

I, personally, would not get a child's meal at a TS restaurant, but have on occasion at CS. I don't usually want a drink (prefer water) so it's not too cost saving for me to order a child's meal with drink included. Yes, I know I could get bottled water, but I have no problem with cups of ice water.

I never have experienced any place that won't allow you to order off the kids menu!! :)

There are definitely some TS places that won't let you. I love this idea for a thread so we can have an idea going in where it is possible.

Not surprisingly, CRT will not let you. My daughter was 11. We had CC guaranteed (since we had the DP) but my intention all along was to pay OOP. Since she didn't find anything on the adult menu she wanted, we ended up paying $60 for those chicken nuggets. I'm still a little perturbed though that they didn't give her the adult dessert. I should have said something.

I've never had a problem ordering from the kids menu at QS places. They usually aren't real strict there. I've never tried at a table service.

Can anyone else give us some successful and/or unsuccessful attempts at ordering a childrens meal at a table service restaurant?
